The players are obviously amateur, but the coach is just as obviously professional. Along with a salary comes expectation of results. That applies to any of us working anywhere. Without looking it up, I will shoot from the hip when stating that Simonetti’s MAC record over 3 years has been unacceptable, even atrocious. Had I been AD, I would have hired Jen Simonetti as head coach. She has many leadership's qualities. Great resume. But at some point she needs to justify UA’s investment in her. I fear her Day Of Reckoning is approaching. She needs to show something positive this year, or she may not be welcome to return.

I will be missing the match. But I offer a warning to Zips: It was approximately around this point in last season that Akron came unglued and finished the season 0-2-3. And received no at large NCAA Tournament invitation. Remember the spectacular victory at CSU with Shokalook's hat trick? Zips need to take care of business and put down an inferior opponent.

Barboto. I was there. Corroborated by box score. That pass was sublime, really next level stuff. The highlight on X does not quite catch it. Whoever made that pass was seeing the whole field as as few players can.

Maximus Barboto delivered the sweetest assist to Stefan Dobrijevic, beating 4 defenders with one pass on the floor. Inexplicably, Max has played only sparingly so far this season. Every time#21 gets a chance on the pitch, he contributes to a scoring play. Max is also a re-start specialist, good on free kicks/corner kicks. It seems that Barboto deserves more playing time because of his offensive creativity.
