  1. We must be careful not to expel newcomers to the bandwagon just because our customary seats are so well worn. I would rather Mr. Alexander write a shallow, second hand article than write no article whatsoever. By its very nature, all journalism invites criticism. Fair Warning! But it is inconsistent to decry the lack of coverage, only to lambast the writer for weak observations. At least the Plain Dealer is taking notice. Perhaps Mr. Alexander's next piece on the Zips will be worthy of comparison to the esteemed Ms. Ridenour’s. The biggest difference is that Marla seems to be invested in this team; it is more than just an assignment. #2ndStar!
  2. That is quite a blow.
  3. Represent us! Be loud and be proud! #2ndStar! And I know Zip_ME87 will be there, no bout adoubt it! Look him up.
  4. Folks are starting to notice Stuart Holthusen, as well they should.
  5. Chris Brennan of Copley is still not showing as committed to Bowling Green, according to TDS. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer/college-soccer-details/men/bowling-green/clgid-439/tab-commitments#tabs
  6. Well done! I had heard elsewhere that Morris had not been present for UCSB match due to national duties. Thanks for researching. I should not make declarations without checking the record. While you are in an investigative mind, what are the matches JoMo missed while with USMNT (or really, for any reason)? VCU, California, Washington.
  7. When Stanford lost to UCSB, Jordan Morris was with the USMNT.
  8. Goal Differential Stanford +24 Akron +27
  9. I was not calling for Caleb Porter's head, but I sure am happy he is remaining in the MLS (for now). What if he had taken the University of Pittsburgh job, for example? Regarding Jared Embick, I am on record several times back in 2012 as wanting the AD to make a dramatic hire. Some times have been tough since then, but Embick eventually proved his quality. But those two Plain Dealer articles by Terry Pluto really changed my perspective on Embick. http://www.cleveland...art_river_index http://www.wCan't State.org/news/story/45030 Also the arcticle on MLS.com helped do the same. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/...-timbers-coach-caleb-porter-aims-more-history There are details in these articles of which I was unaware. Porter endorses Embick much more than I had suspected, and he credits Embick with Akron's past success.
  10. Najem's Golden Goal Free Kick looks even better on video than it did up close. The ball never hit the back netting!
  11. Hope E is doing well. Wow. I recognize many of the names on that roster.
  12. Nah. Bruce Arena coached DC United to 2 MLS Championships (and several other trophies), coached the USMNT through 3 World Cups, coached LA Galaxy to 2 MLS Championships (and other trophies). It is still mentioned on TV Broadcasts that Bruce Arena won 5 NCAA titles with University of Virginia. The last of which was 20 years ago. His NCAA championships will never be forgotten in soccer circles. And Virginia has won it all twice since Arena left (as we well know) under George Gelnovitch. But nobody in Virginia has forgotten Bruce Arena. So let it be with Caleb Porter. His contribution to Zips soccer will never be forgotten by locals, or by nationals. But he has moved on to other success. And so have we. Jared Embick's team has it all in front of them. These current Zips are worthy of the College Cup and just as likely to win it as any of these other squads.
  13. Out of "Like This" for the day. (How stupid is that?) skip-zip, you are right on the mark! Bravo!
  14. Well, Perry Kitchen did grow up in Indianapolis, after all.
  15. Why/How did Perry Kitchen get a Lamborghini?
  16. Not everyone was satisfied with yesterday's result. Producers of live television broadcasts must remain vigilant. Cute girl in a less than proud moment! https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/75C93DA30B1285431288123793408_497bdceb015.4.1.17746175970246861912.mp4?versionId=ITMEd_SwPopS2jtAEkoAIiWZZdB8cgb7
