Valentin, Ampai, and Gavin were all left unprotected and could possibly join Bush and Sinisa in Montreal. Here is a full list of players protected and unprotected

That had to be my flag, all 6 of them made the trip to Texas without me. Fantastic turnout at the Barley House tonight 30+ at most at one time. Not bad for a late notice. I wonder if they did this because, when they called me about a week ago asking me to buy tickets next season, I explained that I only go to Crew games to see former Akron players who play on other MLS teams. I told them if they ever pick up some of their academy players who play for the Zips (I mentioned a few names), I would be more interested. (Hmmmm, what a coincidence.) I would love for them to bring in some former Zips / Crew academy players, but to be honest even last season the Crew posted articles about the Akron Zips. They've always been supportive about the Akron Zips. Crew will be hurting next season for ticket sales unless they make some changes, an Akron Zip would help.

Wondering what the streaming quality is going to be like? Not sure, Barley House has Wi-Fi, if everyone brings a laptop, we could hook every one to a TV. I had a difficult time in the banquet room back in January for USA vs Chile. The receiver was so outdated, we couldn't get a good connection. By the way, some of your former Zips were hanging out at Manny's after the game. Ampai, Zemanski, Gavin, Bush, Nanchoff. It was good to see all those guys and I'm pretty sure I said some ridiculous things to them.

I really hope the University steps up and schedules a watch party this Sunday. It will be disappointing if they don't.

The last time I watched either channel 3, 5, or 8 news was when the Zips won the National Championship. I wanted to see if they caught me celebrating at the Barley House. Ratings for news stations aren't high for 18-30 year olds. I'm 27. Those news stations are for people that don't have internet. You should've been standing next to this ugly mug here. We're so used to losing around here and so scared of it, most of us don't know how to support by talking about the positives in the face of some adversity. It's easier to talk about the negatives and then be pleasantly surprised when something positive happens.
