Couldn't tell it by the score . . .
RUMPLEMINTZ replied to zippyfan34's topic in Akron Zips Football
The Zips score in no way reflects what went down last night. UCF was a good team. In 2004 the Blue and Gold lost to Penn State and then to Virginia to the score of like 49-0, but they stuck together and ended up 6-5. I think these guys are a tight bunch and those kids fought till the end with no quit. I can't wait to see them tear up the MAC! Special Teams really hurt them last night! -
This is the saddest head coach in the history of football, down to pee wee flag. ...the special teams coach is a close second..bye VOHow do you hire a coach when the kids that he inhereted would not play the best game in the world one more time as a team of brothers that should have been instructed and imformed, no one as an individual, coah, player, admin; will ever be bigger than a ledgenday football program ...those kids (ND) sprayed the message all over the the wall while Louie was getting his hair and nails done and Tommy was planning sleep-overs with Robbie.....Sad day for Alumni

JIM FLEMING WILL BRING THE ZIPS BACK TO THE ZIPS!!!!! PROVEN WINNER AND NATIOANL CHAMPION 24-1 AS HEAD COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you "rank" special teams? Is there a formula between punting, kicking, tackling and returns I am unaware of? Other than our place kicking game, I thought our special teams were adequate. Go to NCAA football stats. Every stat is located there for almost everthing. You can go back to compare for past years. The teams with the most favorable stats are all have winning records. Special teams is 1/3 of the game and if you ask Coach Tressel what the most important phase of the game is, he will always say, "The kicking game". Even if a team is sub par you can win games due to a solid special teams core. Most coaches look to fill depth while recruiting, but a kid that can nail a 45 yard fg and a punter that won't hurt you are so important!

Ianello is the biggest weakness of this program. Some helpfull hints for Rob Ianello for the coming year. 1. When speaking to people, try looking them in the eye. People like that coach, don't know exactly how you recruited that way in the past. 2. Stop walking around our town like you own it. The only thing you own is a shitty 1-11 record a bad attitude and terrible posture. 3. Stop saying "At Notre Dame we did it this way"....only thing you ever did there Rob was smell the place up. We don't want it like Notre Dame here, especially when you were there. 4. Stop talking to the players like they are garbage, they are all you have bro...love em up. Charlie did that at Notre Dame, look what happened to him! Your 2009 Notre Dame Team would not even play a Bowl game for you! 5. Learn to be nicer to the people that work on campus....I have never heard anyone that has run across you that has anything good to say about you, in fact you are not liked. 6. Maybe with the $350,000 you made this year go out and buy 'Coaching for Dummies" the newest version 2011 should be out by now. 7. Stop lying. You do that too much and your lucky Gafney is your beat reporter, because if it was me I'd expose you. 8. For God's sake and the team's...keep your mug off the billboards and posters....you do not exemplify the game of football. You my friend are no selling point and you never wore pads before so seperate yourself from actual players! 9. Never ever say learing experience again. 10. Do some thing about your special teams. You were ranked in average 100 places lower from last year. Maybe you should go get a guy who knows what the hell he is doing instead of having the dude kiss your ass 24/7!

It is evident that the seniors were not going out with a loss and thank the football Gods for not denying the Zips! Thank You 2010 seniors for the win! Go Zips!

Give the ball to Allen and let him shred that weak defense. Ianello call Fleming if you want the wheel back next year! He is what you were missing when it came to a coach that could fire up the boys! Three and out for the Mac championship, and 6-1 for the Wagon Wheel. Those kids from down the road brought that wheel directly to him after they took it from us! It must mean something to him!

1350AM says Ianello interview "a dead end"

If Ianello has a clue......he would call Jim Fleming and get on his staff ASAP! -
Proenza was getting lit up on booze in his million dollar suite Wednesday night laughing and having a great time while Ianello pissed another one away...............when are you people going to realize Louie has nothing to do with any athletic decisions? Candice runs the University, she hires and fires. She is the root of athletics....Tom is just a yes man that got his lunch buddy a job! Nothing really has changed with the crappy marketing department, because Candice likes those folks. Who ever came up with "A New Generation" should get a raise, because it truly is. Who ever thought of putting a bowlin pin on a football poster (Ianello) should get the boot....Tom was that a lunch date promise too? Hey Candice! Can you sell beer to the common folk next year so we too can feel like Louie in the box? Zips will win Friday! Go Seniors! Go Zips!

How about the year of Turkey Tom and the Bowling Pin? Please leave our town ASAP for the love of our University!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job Candice!

There is a kid having a career day..... let's pass the ball......no let's not blame the coach! Ianello is in his own world, not mine! You have eight guys in the box and you put it right in the honey hole. My 3 year old son could have called that game better than Inello did at the end. Alex Allen would have willed that win if bowling pin let him! Go Zips! please tell me you are a senior as well!

There are some great players on this squad and some great underclassmen, the fact is that Ianello has no clue about the game of football. He never played the game or experienced being a coordinator. Ianello must of paid for lunch everytime he and Tom went out. Come on, Luke Fickell wanted this job upon Jim Tressel's advice, a no-brainer, unless someone owes you a couple hundered lunches!

No voodoo....just some shmuck from Notre Dame that helped run The Irish into the ground now running the Zips strait to hell.
-
Bro this is Akron, not Syracuse. BCS teams have the pick of the litter when it comes to recruiting. Who is going come to a MAC team that sucks. If you ever met Rob Ianello or seen him walk around campus, well that explains everything!!!!!!!!
-
Sam Rutigliano was a loser that got fired in the middle of a season with a 1-7 record. His record was 47-50 with the Clowns and he never got the job done. My five year old nephew knows the AK is second to none in our facilities. This guy coaching now should be talking to Sam about a possible job opening at Liberty as their recruiting coordinator! You guys crack me up!!!!!

Belichick actually played the game of football, unlike Ianello who never took a snap in his life.
-
It's game planning and coaching, not the kids. Any head coach that has a history of winning and knowing how to win would do better. Check out the history of college football coaches, notice how I said coaches and not recruiters, how they took a program from a losing one to a winning program right off the bat. Right off the top of my head I can remember how Hawaii was 0-12 with Fred Von Appen and June Jones comes in and makes them confrence champions with the same guys that went 0-12 with teams like BYU, Air Force and Utah in that conf. Stop blaming the players! Winning is taught not learned in team sports, how can you teach someone how to win when you don't know how to win and you come from a program left in shambles.
-
Easy, Easy, Easy.......Replace the new head guy already? It's not entirely his fault. Tom the AD didn't hooked him up with an up to date copy of "Coaching College Football for Dummies " Hell, he gave him everything else! I'm sure when Tom realizes that Rob should have read page one in the Kickoff Section he will forgive him. Oh yeah, he should go over the part where it says you should not take an all-conf. Safety and move him to WR only to keep his ass on the bench while the safety coverage gets shredded. I'm sure if he learns a couple basic things about football he will be fine. You really can't blame a man that never played A SNAP OF FOOTBALL IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE, for not knowing jack shit about the game. Coach Faust will be fine, oh I mean coach Ianello.

College Soccer News
RUMPLEMINTZ replied to UAZipster0305's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
great job marketing!!!!!!!!!!!! I was watching channel 5 news only to hear in the last 3 seconds, "oh yeah Akron is going to the final four in soccer good night everyone" -
As of noon today, the AD has no candidates that are close to being hired. He has fired all of the assistants and anyone that can keep the verbal commitments in tact. The underclassmen have no off season work out to take home with them, because he fired Dan Bailey the strength & conditioning coach. Kids on the team are reaching out to coaches that recruited them in high school, so I would anticipate a mass exodus after grades come out. There is no right way to fire a staff, but this dude messed up badly; we will feel the repercussions from this move for years. Tom you screwed yourself pretty good on this one....You acted like you knew what you were doing, but in fact you didn't!

BRIAN WAGNER 2nd Team All-Mac........are you kidding me? The biggest rip off in the history of Zips Football....Let's see what kind of AD we have now!!!!! Hey Tom! How about another YOUTUBE VIDEO crying BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wagner not getting 1st team is just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
the guy is full of it...he has his guy already. If you think for one second your feedback matters then your out of your minds!! It will be funny when those of you that pick Loeffler think you had anything to do with it, when he got the job almost a month ago....hey keep believing ....Go Zips

I heard that half the team is leaving!!!!!!!! Including Nicely and #34!!!!!!!!!!!!!
