the team opened at home last year against two teams ranked in the top 10...Georgetown and Seattle Last year's team was coming off a final four appearance and they were ranked in the top 3 or 4 in the country. First home game was after 2 losses on the road. 2nd home game....was scheduled at a horrible time...noon on a Sunday...and it was 90 degrees outside A noon game has to compete with people watching the Browns on their TV in their air conditioned home. As bad as the Browns are, sports fan still want to watch their game. that being said, the zip athletic department does a horrible job of promoting zips mens soccer to the community and to the students. The #1 team in the country is coming to Cub Cadet field on Wednesday night. I would hope that Larry Williams is calling the editor of the Beacon Journal and requesting an article in Wednesday's Akron Paper.....but I would not be surprised if that is not happening. I would hope that the Student Union and all academic buildings are covered with signs promoting the Zips vs. #1 Michigan State....to help get the AK rowdies out.

WMU got 2,317 fans out on a Wednesday night. For a weekend game against the Mighty Zips, they will pack a lot of Bronco fans into the stands. I watched Michigan play Indiana a few weeks ago to a 1-1 tie. Michigan is very good this year. Super impressive result for WMU. Earlier in the year, WMU had gone to Indy and beat #15 Butler on the road. Zips will have to improve a ton from their performance against St. Louis...to win the MAC this year. Bowling Green was tied 1- 1 earlier this week at 77 minutes at #1 Notre Dame(Irish won 2-1...but still a strong performance for falcons...chris Brennan from Copley scored the BG goal) zips will have the opportunity this year....to dramatically improve their RPI...NotreDame currently #1 ; Mich. State #2 ; Western Michigan currently #16 zips currently #123....let the ascent.....begin at noon on Sunday !!!

I worry about playing Western Michigan on the road 4 days after traveling to play a very good Syracuse team I worry about playing Bowling Green 4 days after playing current #1 Notre Dame this team right now is very weak in the midfield....Midfielders do a ton of running and they will get tired and this will lead to bad passes schedule is not good for this team

exactly....you said you were not impressed by Denver.....and they lost last weekend to cal irvine and cal northridge washington lost on sunday to mercer (GA) Jared always puts together a great schedule....but sometimes....the opponents have down years (Georgetown was an example from last year's schedule)

We will know a lot more about BUGS....after the next 10 days they play at Michigan State wed. night they play the fighting irish in south bend on the 19th and finally ,the falcons play the suckeyes in Columbus on the 22nd WMU....i will cut them some slack...they have a 3-2 win at Butler when Butler was #15 in the country they also have a 0-0 tie with Eastern Illinois
