  1. I sure hope that Reinaldo and Aodhan can both get healthy before the MAC tourney. without both of them, Seremba's season ending injury is even more traumatic Zips XI vs. NIU: Pina (GK), Portillos, Souders, Cross, Gallego, Souto, Najem, Foldesy, Derschang, Stevenson, Abdul-Salaam.
  2. when you look at the list of seniors, Jared Embick is going to need to have an incredible recruiting class this year Men's Soccer, ranked No. 18 nationally this week, plays Northern Illinois on Saturday night at 7 at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field. It will be "Senior Night" and we will salute the class of Reinaldo Brenes, Robbie Derschang, Zac Portillos, Aodhan Quinn and Eric Stevenson during pregame.
  3. comments from MSU website: "Akron is a very good team and they are even better at home," said head coach Damon Rensing. "I thought we showed a lot of good character tonight. We did some very good things and certainly created some chances. Certainly, they created quite a bit of chances. I think any time you go into that tough an environment and play, not give up any goals, create some chances and can potentially win the game, I think you did alright. The work rate of the whole team was special tonight. They dug in and defended, they ran forward on the break when we had chances to get forward, we pushed numbers forward. The guys put a great effort in tonight. We went in there with the attitude to win the game. We unfortunately didn't get the goal, but a tie on the road against a very good Akron team isn't the worst thing."

The NCAA selection committee is really going to have a hard time this year seeding the top 16 teams this year as there does not appear to be one or two dominant teams this year. the soccer coaches have Notre Dame ranked #2 this week.
