  9. I was actually referring to his quote in the Beacon where he said he could add 1 or 2 more to this group of 10. I am hopeful that it is another good foreign player or a transfer that can step in and play.
  10. I am looking forward to see the new players. Does anyone know much about Louis Cross? The writeup on him is fairly vague. You can never have enough good defenders. If Jared Embick can add 1 or 2 more contributors, I think he has done well. Prior to Akron: Developed in Blackpool FC Academy since he was eight years old … Blackpool FC youth team captain … captained his country on a tour in Scandinavia and was named England’s U-16 Independent Soccer Player of the Year … also named League Football Education’s Apprentice of the Month for February of 2013.

  16. in 2012, the #1 ranked recruiting class was announced on Feb. 8, 2012 the fall schedule was announced on April 18, 2012 then on May 9, 2012....6 more additions were announced including Phil Fives and transfer Robbie Derschang...Phil Fives and Robbie both turned out to be excellent late pickups to get some zip soccer excitement going....they at least need to announce next year's schedule....and it sure would be nice to see an official announcement about the forward from England...and a few transfers would be nice as well

  18. I want to wish Alfred Koroma well. It had to be very tough for him to be in the hospital and not to be able to play the game that he loves. I hope that he does very well wherever he ends up.

  21. old news....but interesting to see the quotes from the beacon journal article Copley High School senior Riley Grant is staying local for college. Grant has committed to continue his academic and soccer careers at the University of Akron. “Akron is one of the best programs, if not the best program, in the country,” Grant said. “They play attractive soccer that people like to play. I like Jared [Embick], the coach, and the rest of the coaching staff. I also wanted to stay closer to home.” Grant, 18, played this past season with the International Academy in Northeast Ohio. He played the previous three seasons on the varsity soccer team at Copley. Grant is a 6-foot-1 and 160-pound forward. He has a 3.1 grade-point average, and said he is “looking into business, but still undecided” on a major. Colleges such as Cincinnati, Ohio State, High Point, Cleveland State also recruited Grant. “They have a great soccer program at Akron and I am excited to be part of it,” Grant said. “It is a no-brainer to go there.”
  22. only thing that I could find... (it is not much) http://www.football-talents.co.uk/Victor_A...3_7-9687-2.html
  23. In the beacon article last week, Coach Embick had mentioned a brazilian mid fielder who would step into the Wil Trapp position. this is great news
  24. With Dillon Serna signing a home grown contract yesterday, I am afraid to ask.....what is the latest on Bryan Gallego and the Portland Timbers home grown contract?
  25. Hopefully, the young man from Brazil that was mentioned in the Beacon article....can get into school and be a starting midfielder
