Hartwick defeated West Virginia tonight 1-0 to move to 2-0 in the league. Akron will need to stay perfect the rest of the way in the MAC and Hartwick will have 1 loss and 1 tie for Akron to host the league tourney -

The NCAA selection committee is really going to have a hard time this year seeding the top 16 teams this year as there does not appear to be one or two dominant teams this year. the soccer coaches have Notre Dame ranked #2 this week. Right now, Notre Dame has only won 60% of their games. Notre Dame is 6-0-4 in their 10 games. The soccer coaches have North Carolina ranked #12 this week. Right now, North Carolina has only won 25% of their games. North Carolina right now has a record of 3-2-5. -
Akron is no longer the top ranked team in the state of Ohio. the home games later this month against Wake Forest and Michigan State are going to be huge NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's - National - Poll 6 - October 8, 2013 Rank School 1st Votes Total Points Prev. October 1 soccer coaches poll
TennZip replied to TennZip's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
First off, I have to strongly agree with MDZip. the 2009 team was the best zips team ever.... if Virginia had gone after "Ampai" and injured him even more, the zips would have found a way to score with "Ampai" in there and on the RPI front, the two teams that have defeated Akron....both lost last night (not good for RPI) St. Johns lost to Fairleigh Dickinson and VCU lost to Virginia Wake Forest is going to be a very HUGE game for where this zip team will be seeded in the NCAA's -
http://www.nscaatv.com/rankings/2390/NCAAD.../National/Poll5 you look at N. Carolina with 1 loss and 4 ties.... you look at Notre Dame ...with 3 ties already.... and you have to realize how fortunate that we were to watch the dominant team in 2009....no losses and no ties until the final four
-
Does anyone know if Aodhan and Saad will be back for the West Virginia match? would be good to get Louis Cross back as well.... Was Reinaldo injured in the first half? Zips will need to be healthy to win at W. VA

Ohio State clearly used to be the 2nd best team in the state. Based on this year's results, I don't think the Bucks can say that. 0-0 tie with Wright State 0-0 tie with Bowling Green 3-1 beatdown by Dayton. Xavier would have to be favored against the OSU. that being said, the Zips need to come out and take care of business

http://www.ohio.com/news/break-news/colleg...me-win-1.429126 the goal given up.....was super, super sloppy...they really missed Bryan Gallego today....hope he is able to recover quickly I thought that the midfielders played much too near midfield when the zips had the ball near the goal... many times, it seemed that Najem and Souto were near midfield and the 3 forwards were battling 8 defenders to score did Saad play in the 2nd half? I was impressed by Ismail Seremba on Friday night and he played a lot fewer minutes today
