  2. if Ismail can come back strong from his injury , I like the look of this team....4-3-3 format....looks good...with the strength of the forwards I am sure that Coach Embick will still add 3-4 more recruits Defense men Andrew Souders Louis Cross Saad Aldul Salaam freshman Bryce Cregan Phil Fives Brett Gravatt Brad Ruhaak Mid fielders Victor Souto Adam Najem Canadian freshman Rich Laryea Clint Caso Osas Malkin Tyler Sanda (returning from Injury) Keisuke Ohata fall 2014 recruit Jesse Garcia Aguilar fall 2014 recruit Brent Nanchoff Robby Dambrot Forwards Sam Gainford Ismail Seremba St. Johns transfer Sean Sepe Liverpool freshman Nathan Quirk Riley Grant fall 2014 recruit Nathan Schulz fall 2014 recruit Anthony Macchione

  8. if they would have awarded a PK in regulation for Reinaldo being knocked down, then it should have been a PK in overtime. I felt it was deserving of a foul call

  13. I might be behind the times.... I had not heard of these 2 commitments from a Nov. 25 article on topdrawer soccer.com http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer...itions_aid32110 Other commitments: Midfielder Jesse Garcia-Aguilar (Portland Timbers Academy) committed to Akron for the class of 2014. Midfielder Brent Nanchoff (Internationals SC) committed to Akron for the class of 2014. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-player...choff/pid-71226 http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-player...ar/pid-10023977
  14. I was at the game in my opinion, Adam Najem had the best game for the zips. He always seemed to be in the middle when the zips were attacking and he made some very good passes. In terms of coming back for next year, let's hope that Ismail Seremba can recover well from his injury. He has speed and he was willing to challenge people. I liked what I saw of that young man before his injury. Andrew Souders and Louis Cross will be solid in the back next year Marquette did a better job tonight keeping their offense in the middle of the field. Their goalie would pass it up to the 6'7 kid and that defender would kick a long way into the center of the field....that really helped their offense. Robbie's injury really hurt Akron's ability to attack on both sides. the article on zips.com....does not mention why Eric Stevenson was out of the lineup. Akron still plays an attractive style of soccer....so I am confident that Coach Embick will reload and the zips will do well next year
  15. #8 Virginia 2 St. Johns 0 so the zips will go to UVA next week if they can get past the golden eagles #6 seed georgetown 3 Old Dominion 0 #11 Michigan State and Louisville are 0-0 ....8 minutes into first overtime

  18. game time temp is supposed to be 22 12 mph winds... making the temp feel like 10 degrees their stadium only seats 1,600 but their ticket office on Friday said there will be plenty of seats available at the ticket office on Sunday go, zips....would be fantastic for recruiting to beat both the big ten tourney champ, big ten regular season champ and the big east tourney champ Marquette lost 2-0 in regular season to Mich. State and 1-0 to wisconsin so they certainly can't say they are uncrowned big 10 champs
  19. a win is a win..... Indiana was super aggressive... would love to have tommy thompson kid on the zips side bring on the golden eagles
  20. Saad Abdul Salaam is sick with the flu and not in the starting lineup.... Hopefully, someone else can step up
  21. prediction from J.R. Eskilson - top drawer soccer Akron (16-3-1) vs. Indiana (8-11-2), 7 p.m. How They Got Here: For Indiana, it was a miracle. The Hoosiers won the Big Ten Championship to earn the automatic qualifier to the tournament after what best could be described as a disappointing regular season. Akron continued to be the bully of the MAC and captured another conference crown. Form: Akron is undefeated in its last ten games and won its last six. Indiana is undefeated in its last four games. Players to know: Akron center back/all-everything Bryan Gallego said on Twitter this week that he would be back in the lineup for Thursday’s game after missing out on the MAC Championship due to injury. Freshman Tommy Thompson has been the best player this season for Indiana, and he has recently returned from injury as well. Thompson has five goals and two assists in 12 starts. Stat of the game: Akron head coach Jared Embick is undefeated as a head coach in NCAA Division I Tournament games.* *Important note: This is Embick’s first NCAA Division I Tournament game as a head coach. Prize: A trip to one of the best burger joints in the country in Sobelman’s Pub & Grill (plus a game against Marquette) in the next round.) Prediction: Akron 2-2 Indiana (Akron wins 5-4 in PKs)

  24. coaches have New Mexico at #25.....seeding committee ranked them #7...New Mexico lost 3-0 in their conference tourney to Tulsa and Tulsa did not even make the NCAA tourney soccer coaches have Akron at #7....seeding committee put them at #24 soccer coaches have Maryland-Baltimore County(UMBC) at #5 and RPI last week had them at 6...seeding committed put them at 16 a big conference team...Connecticut is 10 with the coaches and 17 by the seeding committee Charlotte is 23 with the soccer coaches and was seeded #13 by seeding committee I think there are going to be a ton of tournament games decided by penalty kicks...look at all of the ties for Notre Dame, Maryland, Virginia and Connecticut
  25. final regular season poll from the soccer coaches...obviously none of these coaches are on the selection committee http://www.nscaatv.com/rankings/2950/NCAAD...National/Poll12
