It's nice to see James Price listed at 6'2", 285 LB (as opposed to the earlier reports of 6'1", 260 LB). Possible catch phrase for this class: The Price is Right?

Clay at 6'-3" 340 LB! They didn't state a position (s) for Tyrell Goodman yet (HS QB). WR is looking like a probable spot for him.

While still big enough, Moore's HT/WT listed here are smaller than on some other sites. Rizzo must have played against WR AJ Price since Dean and Nassau are in the same JUCO conference.

Not directly related to Zach Paul, but this Youngstown Vindicator writer reports that Fox's HS coach thinks AJ will be the starting punter (I wonder what Zach Campbell thinks about this) and possible kickoff specialist for the Zips next year. Of course, any HS coach is going to talk "up" his own player. The question remains.....who will handle FGs and extra points? Maybe this is where Zach Paul comes in.

haha They really are interested in the Zips though. For ASN, 5% of my hits last month came from that area of the country (Virginia, DC, Maryland). At first I didn't realize why. Probably most of that was me. I thought you were a physician. I now see that you are a Zip residing in Maryland. Imagine my chagrin. Scout has Price as a 3 star. And they list him at 285 LB instead of 260 LB. Could see him getting over 300 LB before he's done. He apparently moved to the Pittsburgh area from Nevada not long ago. In fact, it looks like he had an offer from UNLV at some point. I'll gladly take back my Paul Pasqualoni comment. There seems like there might be more to this story. I'm sure we'll learn more before too long.

I’ll echo the “this is truly remarkable” sentiment already established in this thread Remember when Caleb signed his most recent contract extension and there was some verbiage in there about having X amount of money for program development (my words, but it was something to that effect)? I’m thinking this trip falls under this category. As is typically the case with Coach Porter, this is money WELL spent!

I hope he holds back at least one scholarship as a contingency for a late qualifier/change of heart/etc. I'd much prefer that to simply giving it out to the next available player over today and tomorrow.

He can probably thank Paul Pasqualoni for his FBS scholly. Let's hope the Woodland Hills magic continues here at UA!

Scout indicated a scholarship offer from UA a few days ago. It didn't look like anyone else had offered at the time. It's interesting that this class will apparently have TWO kicker/punters (not that we don't need the help, particularly at kicker).

If they are, it's a step forward in terms of getting timely information put up on the site. Well let's put it this way. If you go to the Football/Roster section, it takes you to the 2011 roster (which is now blank ). You have to click on "previous season" to get the old roster. Hopefully, the blank roster for 2011 isn't blank for too long. I know, I know. Don't bet on it

I thought about him, since he's got decent size at 6'3" 195 LB. But it's hard to imagine that he showed much last year if they decided to RS him (unless he was battling an injury we're not aware of). BTW, it looks like GoZips is getting prepared to update the roster for 2011 (probably in advance of National Signing Day?).

While I agree with the Cap'n that we really could use a WR with some height, both Russell and Sconiers played well at times for true FR last year. I respectfully disagree. If we had Cherry/Sparks/Irvin, Russell and Sconiers would be 4th and 5th on the depth chart. We need someone the caliber of Schifino, Bailey, Cherry, Sparks, Irvin, Hixon, Arthur etc. What we have now reminds me of Mongomery or Goodwin. We won't win anything if those guys are our in our Top 2 or 3 @ WR. Both are young, so I could be wrong. But I don't think I am. I’ll admit that neither has done anything to this point that compares favorably to those Zips receivers of the past. They each made plenty of mistakes (as did the entire receiving corps throughout the year) in 2010 as well. I was just saying that they both showed some signs (to me) of having some talent. Russell, in particular, had a knack for getting separation on the deep ball. Yes he dropped an easy one (KY?), but he was also overthrown at least 3 or 4 other times. Sconiers showed some ability to run with the ball after the catch. Whether or not they develop into contributing #1, #2 or #3 receivers of course remains to be seen. I’ll make this qualified prediction. IF Russell is still with the team (you have to give me that one!) and IF the QB/Line play is even moderately improved from last year, I predict ONE of the two will emerge as a quality receiver in 2011 (say, 700+ receiving yards and 5+ TDs).
