  2. rome coming up big! 3 pt play :-)
  3. WTF is wrong with our defense & rebounding? ARGHHHH!!!
  4. This is fun to research and speculate, but I sure hope the team isn't thinking along these lines! Because if they are, Miami could put a quick end to all of this talk tomorrow night. Let's face it, winning down there (in any sport) has proven to be a mighty task indeed for UA since, well, pretty much forever. That said, GO ZIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's close this thing out!
  5. Foxsports UA PageCan you believe that FoxSports still uses that freakin' logo!!!
  6. There is some kind of rating system associated with it. If you check out the link, we're actually part of a "bottom 10"
  7. I'm still numb from the small print on the AP logo?Peay Pride.......Feel it? Share it? "Golden showers" have become "mainstream" (yuck yuck) I suppose!
  8. GoZipsGoZips.com now has the list and comments from JD. I am amazed that we kept as many as we did. Awesome!!! Now if they can all qualify Way to go JD and staff!
  9. I know I'm in the minority, but lately I've decided that if (somehow) the Zips win out (I don't expect this, but you never know), but lose in the MAC tourney FINALS (semis won't cut it), I think they have a decent shot of getting an at large bid. I just have a feeling that the way other conferences seem to be wailing away at each other that it might be tough for the committee to send a 28-5 team to the NIT this year. I hate to even say this, 'cause looking ahead is a sure way to get the team to lose focus. It's going to be a wild end of the season, all across college basketball.Go Zips!!!
  10. KUDOS Lady Zippers! You looked very inspired on TV.It was nice to see ex-Northwest Indian Rachel Green get some PT and take advantage by playing some terrific D.
  11. There is usually someone in the crowd who has the nerve to say what a lot of us are already thinking. Props mcperp!!
  12. My intitial thought of Austin Peay goes back to 1985 and the football Zips had just lost at home to Middle Tennesse by 17-0, but the Zippers managed to regroup and beat the Governors the following week in Clarksville to squeak into the D1-AA playoffs. I recall QB Vernon Stewart having a big game with one of his wide receivers (1st name Willie I think, may have went to Garfield HS?). It was the Zips only D1-AA playoff appearance. As for B-Ball, I like to kid about the OVC, but it's not a bad league at all, and those rivalries with Middle, etc, used to provide some excellent games. Do I wish we were playing someone else? YES! But we gotta play who they tell us to and hopefully play well!
  13. I'm rooting for the Rockets for three reasons. First, I have to agree with the general sentiment that it's always a good thing when the Boobcats lose! Second, I'd like to see the Zip/Rocket clash at UT get as much hype as possible, win or lose. I figure that the outcome of the UT/UA regular season game might not have as much impact on our "path" duting the MAC tourney as one might expect. Let's say UT wins, then there's a good chance they'd be a 1 seed, and we'd more than likely end up as a 2 or 3 seed. We wouldn't have to play them again until the finals anyway, assuming we both get there. Of course, the MAC tourney is always some sort of a crapshoot anyway. My final reason is that I respect the UT athletic program as a whole. I think UT probably has as much in common with UA as any other MAC school. I mean think of the similarities:1) both are urban universities in mid-size, midwestern cities known to be on the wrong end of "humorous: jabs from time to time2) both have had football stadiums built by the WPA!3) both have stadiums named after the industry that fueled the growth of each city4) similar size (student body)5) and last but not least........neither UT nor UA suck like Can't!!!
  14. Hey, every dark cloud (with A Peay, maybe that should be "yellow" cloud!) has a silver lining. There is the mandatory return visit to Clarksville next year!!! I say that some of us older fans teach the Rowdies the old "OVC" chant, complete with the YMCA-like hand motions
  15. I wonder how much the shoulder he hurt at Central affected his running from that point on. He surely ran hard against Penn St. and NC State! Let's see what happens in the spring assuming he recovers 100%.
  16. The game was cancelled at the last minute.Link
