  1. Interesting - I believe he was recruited as one.
  2. Stoops suspends an O-Linemen who was expected to compete for starting job. Considering the ability of our front 7, that could be a small chink in the Sooner armor the Zips might exploit. It's kind of interesting that both the Zips and Sooners will be unveiling new offenses come Sept 5.
  3. Maybe Michaelee Harris rupturing his Achilles on the 1st day of camp had something to do with Lane being switched to WR? Edit: never mind. I see this decision was made earlier by TB.
  4. I'll bet JB1 cracks the top 3, and I expect Grice to be in there somewhere. Since the blogger actually knew something about fellow transfer Monroe, I expect Marcus to make the list as well. Neither Pittman nor Coe will likely make it, but I'll bet one of them make 1st or 2nd all-MAC after the season.
  5. Here is the big reason Brian Wickstrom seriously considered coming to UA, which on the surface may seem to be a lateral move. Of course, this data is from 2014 and the numbers for UA will certainly be lower in the near term, but the delta was so great (32M vs 12M) in 2014 that it still represents a big increase. Edited:
  6. Wazzu transfer LB Darryl Monroe is 1st Zip to appear at #28.
  7. Looks like that list might need a key addition The guy seems to have a good track record of securing large donations. Of course, he'll be up against it with the recent news here at UA.
  8. A losing record in conference play? Of course, this same guy predicts that K.E.N.T. will beat a B1G team and Ball St will bring up the rear in the MAC West
  9. EA picks Zips 5th in East - right behind K.E.N.T. But the consensus has the Zips picked for 2nd (Tie).
  10. Maybe it’ll be like that run by Willie Fritz’ Georgia Southern squad, who had quite the introduction to FBS/Sunbelt play last fall. This included a wild 42-38 loss to none other than Ga Tech.
  11. I would say that's an emphatic affirmative. As suspected, this is shaping up to be a run-oriented attack - perhaps the 1st here since Gerry's "Pass-n-Pitch" version of the flex-bone.
  12. Here are a few tidbits I picked up on after reviewing the pre-season depth chart: Bullard and Gauthney both moved from D-Line to O-Line. MTB and Bickley are still listed on the roster. My suspicion for them being left of the depth chart is the staff isn’t too pleased with the effort. Newman Williams is the starting FB. I expect his emergence to keep Cody focusing on defense and I believe that will be a big benefit to a front 7 that is talented, but not too deep. I’m a little surprised to see Jerome Lane at Rover. I suspect he’ll be playing closer to the line of scrimmage much of the time regardless. Troy Jones listed as 3rd string QB. The biggest news I saw - Former Alabama/LSU 4-star recruit Josh McNeil is the starter at TE!!
  13. I know we've had a number of Colorado St transfers, but we all know Rodney Coe isn't one of them.
  14. Excellent find, CK! Mondo was really a lot of fun to watch here, especially as a freshmen. Injuries prevented him from building off of the success of that 1st season in full, but he gutted it out and I give him credit for that. It's good to see that he's been able to have such a nice, long career up north.
  15. I can't take full responsibility (or blame) for these ideas, but a few of us got together the other day and discussed attendance in general. Playing the rival twice was the most promising suggestion to come out of that. I added a few more of my own. Possible Steps to Address MAC Football Attendance Woes: Ditch ESPN and the weekday games (I know, preaching to the choir here). Create a MAC Internet Football Network and stream a MAC Game of the Week, selecting this based on level of importance as the season progresses (forget TV). Allow each team to play their rival TWICE in one season (home and home). One game would be a designated conference game and the other a non-conference game Offer significant monetary advantages to STUDENTS for PERFECT attendance (not just one game) Offer minor monetary advantages (or even just the chance of winning something) for STUDENTS attending any game
  16. I look for Conor to have an outstanding senior season in 2016. He's my offensive POTY. On a side note, we can root for his sister Amelia to win PanAm gold tonight for the USA in gymnastics. The women have already won team gold.
  17. With Golson transferring to FSU, TB gets heavily involved in the discussion. The story is now a lead on CNN's front.
  18. I’m still trying to figure out how K92 managed to clip the #5 pin without taking any others down????
  19. If I recall correctly, he had already been moved to FB when he was featured in one episode of the Atlanta Falcons version of HBO's "Hard Knocks".
  20. Right or wrong, I believe this school could be the inspiration.
  21. It's a real shame he won't be between the posts for the return leg at Stade Olympique Still hoping the Impact can pull off the improbable! Edit: Impact will appeal, so hopefully Evan will still play.
  22. I'm not sure when he'll be eligible, but have we talked about this transfer from Indiana before? I apologize if he's been mentioned elsewhere. Edit: wadszip did in fact mention him before. Nice call, wadszip!
  23. Perhaps he meant Willie Spencer?
