The team overall hasn't been that bad. I don't like punting on the plus side of the field, but going for it requires a coach that believes in his team.

To be fair, this is the more correct answer. Joe's not leaving until his contract is up, or he finds an OC job somewhere. It would not be a good business decision to fire Joe, though you're getting darn close to "are we better in the community without him and that cash than with him" with another 4-8 season.

If Dustin Ford had a 27% win percentage over four years exacerbated by a recruiting screwup where the only other options available have 17 shots attempted in their combined college careers, and all of the offseason camp was used to get the ineligible guys ready until the actual preseason started, taking away valuable reps from the guys who have that combined 17 shots in their college career...Yeah, it would. This isn't a one-off "well, we tried" like those two guys and Ford. This is just another piece in what's turning into a rather long pattern of Moorhead just not being a very good hire. If those two guys don't make it with Ford? He's still got a team that's going to be playing on Friday in Cleveland at worst. Now with Broughton and/or Roggow (unless they're actually good...in which case why are we taking their reps away for a potentially ineligible guy who hasn't actually played in three years), Akron's quite possibly looking at 2-10 in the face again. BUT - Tonight is the beginning of a new season, and I desperately hope I'm wrong.

They can call it what they want, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... I figure most years going forward, the playoff spot (and they won't do two G6 ones again) will be either the PAC-12 or the AAC. The other leagues absent a 13-0 team won't get the bid. Obviously if people ever get some sort of governance together for the sport, things may go a little back to a more sustainable model and then who knows.

You figure the AAC winner is nearly in the driver's seat for the G6 playoff spot. It's easily the best G6 league, IMO
