  1. They had uniforms and everything.
  2. Yes, the FCS win would count
  3. Irons may have a sundial for his inner pass rush clock, but he's not going to do something that dumb.
  4. Yes, I'd say so. Hopefully a quick recovery then.
  5. Hopefully they're ok and you saw incorrectly!!!
  6. Home wins at Infocision: 2009 - 3 (Morgan State, Kent State, Eastern Michigan) 2010 - 1 (Buffalo) 2011 - 1 (VMI) 2012 - 1 (Morgan State) 2013 - 3 (James Madison, Kent State, Toledo) 2014 - 4 (Howard, Eastern Michigan, Miami, UMass) 2015 - 3 (Savannah State, Buffalo, Kent State) 2016 - 2 (VMI, Miami) 2017 - 5 (Ark-Pine Bluff, Ball State, Buffalo, Ohio, Kent State) 2018 - 2 (Morgan State, Central Michigan) 2019 - Nope 2020 - 1 (Bowling Green) 2021 - 1 (Bryant) 2022 - 1 so far (St. Francis) So, 28. They're over 25!! Woohoo! 17 if you only count FBS teams, though.
  7. When that happened, my first thought was "oh wow, he's trying to convince himself that they've got this, when he knows they're still in deep trouble."
  8. I have Herbert in a dynasty league, so we're gonna hope it's just winning and big numbers, thank you.
  9. Progress is fighting for a bowl bid in 2022, and having a chance late in the season to get there. The nonleague schedule is rough, but the MAC East is the worst division in FBS. Don't necessarily have to get to the 6 wins, but not being eliminated from bowl eligibility with multiple games to play is the only way there will actually be tangible progress showing.
  10. The right hire can save the program. But we're at the point where going 3-5 in the MAC is very possibly "biggest improvement year-to-year in the nation" territory.
  11. Not sure that's going to be enough to keep this thing close.
  12. Sign me up if they get that. Not sure it'll work great, but it certainly would be something different.
  13. Can add Eddie George to the list?
  14. Even if promises were made - and I know there's risk in using "just" stats, but Kato has by some margin the lowest completion percentage, lowest yards per completion, and he's gotten hurt. I feel bad, because his college career is just about over (unless he has more eligibility he can transfer for). But, if Akron's trying to win - and given the coach just got canned, they are - he's not the best choice to help do that.
  15. I would agree with you, but I also don't think Guthrie is ignoring any reasonable option. This might be the most thorough search Akron has done. Which, good. It's needed.
  16. Yes, but for far far FAR less work. THAT SAID, it costs nothing to make the call.
  17. My best guess is that they waited until Akron wasn't bowl eligible anymore.
  18. Hey hey now, there's over 100 in just the band!
  19. Bad teams find a way to lose games.
  20. I believe self-imposed by aCoach
  21. See? Progress!
  22. And when they're not hurt, they play (even if we're not really sure Kato should be).
  23. I do not know Guthrie. I do not know Arth. I do not know anyone in Akron's athletic department. But, I do know that if there was a way to generate that kind of cash that the department needs without having to go get beat by 52 or 50 by Ohio State and Auburn, I know they'd listen. Absent that...you're gonna see Akron play money games most years.
  24. Yeah, this really is the key. There needs to be real progress by the end of this season, and we're seeing some flashes of it with Irons. I'd like to see another touchdown drive tonight just to make sure they can go home knowing some progress has been made...but we can't go 0-8 in the MAC again.
