My wife (who doesn't know a lot about football) asked "why do they keep calling the same running play? It isn't really working." Followed by this gem: "He doesn't trust his team to get two inches? That doesn't reflect well on his coaching if his team can't get two inches."

Like people already don't make stupid comments about crAkron? Or any other schools for that matter? And I really don't think the Z looks anything like the Air Force bolt (which by the way, is a really nice helmet in it's own right)

There could be, but I prefer non striped helmets as well.

Personally, I'd like to see them use the Z logo more. I think it's cool that we're one of the few schools at any level to have a nickname with a Z, I think it may be a good idea to play that up...kind of like Xavier does with their X. Anyway, since this thread is about uniforms, here's a sample of a white helmet with the Z logo.

The things that stand out in my mind:The last TD came on 4th down, Frye falling backwards found Montgomery in the back of the endzone with nothing more than a prayer.And of course, the Marshall punter's flub on their punt attempt with about 10 seconds remaining, and Akron's then game winning 42 yard FG.Also, I didn't know this until I looked up the box score, but current NYG RB Ahmad Bradshaw played for Marshall in that game.

I remember Akron popping up a few times in the sitcom "Home Improvement." There's a national commercial for Sonic out right now that wonders what a guy from Akron would choose: Chicago dog or NY Dog?

Unfortunately, I don't work for AK Air (I'd love the flight benefits!) There usually is an AK Air magazine in the building I do work in. I think it'd be a nice logo for the team to use as well. However 1) It's a take off of Arsenal's shield, so it isn't terribly original, and 2) If it's a good idea, would the athletic department actually do it?

Congrats to Darlington! It was a pleasant surprise to arrive at work and see this magazine front and center. What's even cooler is that Iditarod takes place in March, and to make the cover of the airline's magazine in March is a pretty awesome thing. So, the wife and I are in town from the great white north and will be at the game tonight. I haven't been to a Zips match since I was in school (early 2000s), so I have a couple questions. 1. I know to get there early (GA tickets), but how early is appropriate? 2. Is there any GA area that's better than the others for taking in the action with the new setup? This will be my wife's first soccer game ever in person, so I want to really wow her with the Akron soccer experience As for the game, let's make FAU and the rest of the schedule pay for Wednesday night!
