  1. Bobcats looked terrible. Cooper chucking up shots from all over the place, and Baltic looked just as lost as he was against the Zips. Let's hope it carries over to Wednesday.
  2. Zeke and Tree's dunks were #10 on Sportscenter. Here is Zekes:

  4. Don't know if this has been posted, but Akron's favorite referee made some headlines on Yahoo today: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-da...346--ncaab.html The audio is golden.
  5. I smiled a bit at all the "this game is no big deal" talk there.
  6. Haven't watched the game yet so maybe I'd think differently seeing it in context, but OU starting to foul with about two and a half minutes left seemed weird. Was that about the only option they had at that point down 9? with a little under 3 minutes left? By the way, let's not forget 4 straight huge free throws from Harney.
  7. What a show to put on for the nation and more importantly, the average Akron resident. Can't wait to watch when I get home!
  8. Outscored Ohio by 28 so far after they reached their largest lead.
  9. Everyone else pretty much covered it. The availability of things like jerseys and various "authentic" apparel has been next to none. For example, I'd pay nicely for one of the soccer scarves and the heavy winter coat the team wears. I think others would as well. For example, look at the Portland Timbers team store, you can buy pretty much anything and everything the team wears. Now I realize that he Timbers are a professional organization, but I think taking orders like the basketball team is doing is a great idea. Ensures they'll order only as many as they need, and if there's still demand after that, do it again. All that said, kudos to the basketball team for making these available. I hope the other teams follow the lead.
  10. I never cared for the all gold uniforms, but I would like to see gold make an appearance in the current set. Here's how: Home whites: Replace the silver lettering and numbers with gold, keep the blue outlines. Along the lines of the soccer uniforms, but the dark blue outline would make it easy to read. Add in gold to the checker pattern down the shorts. Road blues: Replace the silver outlines with gold. Keep the trim white. Add in gold to the checker pattern down the shorts. Home gray: This may be unpopular, but I think this is a fine third uniform and doesn't need any gold. With the other two sets including gold, I think a set with none works well as a change up. Most fans never see Akron in the all blue, so something to change things up is nice.
  11. I think this has worked out well for the athletic department. They arguably got more press out of being denied by the NCAA than they would have by actually wearing the jerseys during a game.
  12. Has the roof blown off the JAR? How is the crowd?
  13. The NIU board has them going 1-30 in the first half from the field.
  14. Love it, I've wanted them to use the Z logo more for years, the only place you really see it is on the basketball court. The baseball team used to use it, not sure if they still do.
  15. Zeke has 7 blocks in 15 minutes of game time.
  16. Think back to sometime in the past two years...what if someone from the future told you that in September of 2012, the Zips would put up over 700 yards of offense in one game? I don't care who it's against, this feels pretty good.
  17. This is a lot of fun to watch. On a side note, I think we look MUCH better with gold pants on the road.
  18. Pitt has no problem with it http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/sports...er-logo-243783/ Neither does Wisconsin http://cjonline.com/stories/120507/loc_222902997.shtml
  19. This is a stupid idea. The playoffs are watered down badly enough as it is. I'd rather see a creation of a "Super 32" division in which these powerhouse programs can opt into or be placed into regardless of size, then leave the rest of the 6 divisions alone. If they're going to keep the harbin system, hopefully they add a rule where you must win 5 games to make the playoffs. As it is now, 5-5 gets a couple teams in each year, it would be ridiculous to have 4-6 starting to get you in (I know it's happened a couple of times already...Walsh made it at 3-6 one year if I remember correctly.) Keener '92...Hillsdale fell prey to one of the more loaded regions I can remember in a long time. Four 10-0 squads is pretty crazy...on a side note...I went to Ashland High School with a Keener, maybe a relative?
  20. Exactly. That was one hell of a game from start to finish. A great showcase of the league two best teams on prime time national television.
  21. I'll just leave this here...from the AP article on ESPN: "Can't State senior guard Michael Porrini had boldly predicted the Golden Flashes would win. He finished with 11 points and nine assists, but sat crying on the bench after the final horn sounded."
