  1. I like having Pohl back, but under pressure you gotta step up. Pohl is not stepping up under pressure. So far pohl under pressure in this game = Interception, clock runs out of time. Need better play second half.
  2. Pohl needs to be a commanding QB. He didn't get the first down, time ticking down. You run up to the line (who was already lining up) and you snap the ball and throw a hailmary to any WR running down the field. If people want to know why the coaches question Pohl, this why.
  3. You don't spike it because it was 4th down.
  4. Last play as the drive, this is why people question Pohl.
  5. Another inopportune Kyle Pohl Interception.
  6. Zips will never get a new arena. So get used to #ThinkSmaller #NeverGoodEnough and #SmallTime
  7. Lets get off the Pohl conversation and enjoy the darn game! Save QB talk for the off season! Go Zips!
  8. Hopefully that trend continues!
  9. I get a feeling like this game will be similar to the Can't State game last year. Wet, cold, defensive struggle. But at the end of the day the Zips will come out on top. Thanks Dr. Z for the observations. Akron 17 BGSU 10
  10. I know...it's a sad state of affairs in America.
  11. 80% chance of rain this morning. GO ZIPS!
  12. All we need to worry about now is winning out. We win out, we're guaranteed a bowl.
  13. The MAC has a contract with 5 bowls. Since they are those 5 bowls' contract with the MAC (not the individual schools) I'm assuming the top 5 teams in the MAC would be the ones going to those Bowls. That makes the most sense, considering most of the Bowls are long ways away from where any MAC fans might actually be able to travel to. So our goal should be to worry about one of the 5 bowls the MAC has. This is, of course, all a mute point if the Zips just win out and go to the MAC CG.
  14. If we make in to the MAC CG, I and about 20 of my close friends/recent Alumni are piling in cars and heading to the Motor City. Doing my part. But let's not get ahead of ourselves: With this dadgum game first!
  15. Whatever formula teamrankings.com uses, their confidence in their Akron pick has gone up.
  16. From all the pessimism dealing with my friends here on ZN.O. I don't like 8:00pm Tuesday night games, I do love televised Tuesday night games on ESPN, but I will be there rain or shine. I do have to be up early in the morning to work, but it doesn't matter. I love the Zips, I will be there to cheer them on, and I won't for a moment regret losing a little sleep when I watch the Zips Bowling green. Go Zips!
  17. This week is a big week folks. We're up against Auburn, undefeated. Let's give the Tigers their first loss! Time to bust out the good ol' Zipsnation voting machine!
  18. +1. I'm excited about the option of going to the game and watching at home. In fact, I'm resting myself today because I'm a little sick, in hopes I can get better to be at the game on Tuesday in person. GP1, I've not been tortured as long as you have by the Zips, but I absolutely can't wait for this game. This is the most excited I've been about a Zips football game ever.
  19. I disagree. People need to think rationally, and have rational conversations with other rational adults about what to think/do...NOT get all hyperbolic and freak out. I didn't know what was going on, but rationally was able to figure it out because I live by lex parsimoniae.
  20. Zips fans should shift gears and start voting for Wilma T. Wildcat, try to get him a loss
  21. Teamrankings.com has Akron winning over Bowling green, but they have a low confidence in that prediction. (they also had low confidence in their prediction of Ohio vs. Akron where they had also picked Akron).
  22. But it's an important conversation that we need to have. We NEED to talk about this as fans, before we rush to conclusions about what is going on with our favorite team or the adults involved.
  23. Good posts Dave and GP1. I think as fans, who are not involved with the game directly or the science behind protecting players, we have the moral obligation to keep ourselves in check. There is a culture around football that is fueled by the fans, and I believe we need to reframe from becoming hyperbolic whenever it concerns players. We have the moral obligation to remind ourselves that these kids, who give us entertainment, are people who have to live with the injuries that they may sustain from playing the game. As fans, instead of pressuring coaches to play our best players all the time, we should be pressuring coaches to protect them at all costs. Winning isn't everything, especially when it comes to the health and wellbeing of our players. The changes in football are going to come from us, the fans.
