  1. It says "Zips Basketball" and not "Zips men's basketball" so I think it's okay being here.
  2. Dr. Z: Is there a way to "pin" this to the top of the recruiting forum so it doesn't disappear off the page? Thanks!
  3. Do you guys think Devyn Wood would be able to push/compete with Kincade? He certain seems to pass the eye test, and it seems like we're stacking up on QB's that have a chance to compete for the starting roll each season. That can't be a bad thing.
  4. Seems like we're getting depth at QB...quality depth at that too!
  5. Way to go Zips! Keep it up!! Hopefully this is an Omen for the fall too!
  6. That's actually really cool, thanks keener! I think this is a good place for it
  7. The real person you want to convey your thoughts too is Paul Harold. He'll actually take your thoughts to heart, and present them (if warranted to do so) to the committee.
  8. Yeah...he totally said "I'm going to Akron because I can hang with LeQuit..."
  9. I hope Ohio finds a competent enough coach to still be competitive in the MAC. We need our "top" programs to remain good, and everyone continue to improve. Though I will be looking forward to KD breaking in a new coach. Hopefully we can say goodbye to the 36-36 stalemate between our two programs and claim our rightful place on top of the "rivalry".
  10. ...but if the ARoo head was incorporated as the primary logo...so early ago...isn't it kind shooting ourselves in the foot to be rebranding again? Because this certainly feels like rebranding. But hey, I don't care what the logo is, so long as we're winning. GO ZIPS!
  11. If you look closely enough Blue&Gold you'll see that the 1 has a hook. Our font does not have hook in the 1.
  12. To be fair guys...look at the picture (not the board) of the jersey sitting on the table with the helmet. It's CLEARLY navy blue Everyone need to chill out, they are going to be navy blue with gold. The question is; will the number be our font or not.
  13. Great read. One quote in there I want to point out to everyone: I said it before so it may start sounding like me but I'll say it again... Bowden is hear to stay.
  14. Definitely Navy Blue. Looking at the jersey color itself from the other pictures posted it is very clearly Navy Blue. The flash seems to have skewed the color a bit, however I'd imagine since they both look black on the design board...more than likely they're both the same as the Jersey...Navy Blue.
  15. I'm not sure how I feel about these new uniforms...but whatever that opinion is, it will grow depending upon if they win or not. If we're winning, I think we will all come to love the new uniforms. If we're losing, I think we'll come to hate them just as much as the other uniforms. My biggest criticisms are: 1. The numbers don't match the "Akron" font we've already established...it would have been nice for them to stay the same. 2. What's the point of sending out a survey about the UA "branding" when you've already made the decision to move the Z logo to the primary spot. I like the Z, but now I feel like we're over using it. Pros: 1. They do look fresh, and they don't look slopped together like last year's "additons" 2. Encorporated the Roo back into the shoulder of the Jersey...BIG plus. 3. Hopefully this means that those $5 jerseys we can buy as season ticket holders will be like this.
  16. Now...with these new uniforms...lets go 12-0!
  17. To be fair K-Roo...we might be ableto see it better when they're on the field...all we've seen so far are pictures in not-so-good lighting and possibly with filters/flashes.
  18. I saw those a couple of weeks ago...DISCUSTING! Doesn't even look close to our Jersey right now...
  19. I completely agree with almost everything you said GP1. I'm fully for allowing student athletes to have jobs as well as not paying student-athletes beyond tuition room/board for what they do on the football field. However I will say that (not being alive in the 70's) there were huge problems with the job situation of college athletes. Wealthy Alumni would pay the players exorbitant amounts of money for doing essentially nothing. Famous one I love is Boomer Esiason in a picture with "his" oil derrick. A wealthy alum hired him over the summer to periodically "check on" the derrick...getting paid some $20,000 to do so. There's bounds of reason within everything. And I personally think that where college athletics went wrong is when it tried being something it was never supposed to be: a multi-billion dollar industry that is focused on continuing to make billions of dollars instead of focusing on student getting a good education.
