  1. I had forgotten that the Zips scored a TD in this game off a flea-flicker to Kobie Booker. Would love to see trick plays like that.
  2. That's a fair point. TBH, I made the friendly wager off of blind hope...and the observation that usually take a step backwards after losing a coach to another school. I was thinking Akron would be 8-4...and WMU would be 7-5...I guess I was 1 game off.
  3. I know right? It's super weird when you consider their recruits have more individuals with multiple D-I offers than we do.
  4. I noticed someone floating that a couple of weeks ago, but I think it's because the American won't be able to fill their spots or something.
  5. Way to go Zips! I'm just now tuning into the game and DID NOT expect the Zips to have the lead at the half! Boy-oh-boy am I a spoiled Zips fan right now! Go Zips!
  6. Great Win in OT! Proud to have been at the game today, I always enjoy Zips wins over Big-10 Opponents! Keep rolling! GO ZIPS!
  7. I was just spitballing I too really, really, REALLY want the bowl game in Detroit.
  8. Well gentlemen, guess there's no need to split the bets. Akron definitively finished with a better record this season than Western Michigan. Hopefully we're men of our word and make our donations to the Z-fund. GO ZIPS!
  9. I guess on the flip side...we're more likely to beat whoever we play in Florida, which is also a hotbed for Bowden Recruiting...
  10. Here's the final results on the regular season: The MAC has 7 bowl eligible teams, if one is going to be left out it is most likely Buffalo at 6-6. Camellia Bowl Bahamas Bowl Potato Bowl Dollar General Bowl *St. Petersburg Bowl *Boca Rotan Bowl *Quick Lane Bowl Teams Bowl Eligible: Toledo Ohio Akron Northern Illinois Western Michigan C. Michigan Buffalo Teams Eliminated: Miami Bowling Green Ball St. Kent State E. Michigan
  11. Nope. You can count on it right now, that you're not.
  12. Definitely Toleldo after that INT. Look forward to the rematch.
  13. Pull out all the stops in the MAC Championship game. Like this play:
  14. Fair enough. I'm a rather young Zips fan, so my memory doesn't go back as far. At any rate, I want whoever we could potentially beat.
  15. My god NIU has dominated the MAC Championship game. Good lord. I almost wont to face Toledo because good lord letting NIU have another crack at it is just depressing. And my god, Toledo has been a GOOD West team for years but has yet to crack a MAC C berth? Goodness! And I don't feel bad AT ALL for Ohio. They were in the MAC C just last year. Their fans can get over themselves.
  16. I forgot to mention this: Winningest Record in Infocision Stadium History. 5-1 at home this season. Go Zips!
  17. I will be flipping back and forth between these two games on Friday.
  18. I know...I'm just trying to get excited here...
  19. The Zips have an opportunity here. Last night was a fun game, singing sweet caroline (I know it's not our tradition, but fans of all ages got into it), with the atmosphere AND a Zips win, it couldn't be sweeter. The opportunity is this: You've probably got a little more buy in from some students. You created a relatively fun atmosphere, something worth being at, and WON THE GAME. They're offering $20 round trip (including bus ride and a T-Shirt and Pre-game party) for students to Detroit (brilliant!). You've got lined up probably the best potential Recruiting class in the Bowden Era, and will likely be getting a second look from those borderline recruits we usually lose on signing day, to potentially flipping them in our favor. THIS is the time, if ever, the Zips need to make a move to establish something. After thanksgiving break, they need to make a HARD push on campus to make sure everyone knows the Zips are in the MAC Championship game. They need to start planning viewing parties with local companies, w/e on campus for those who can't make the trip. They need to make a hard push to students to get them to make the trip, $20 is VERY duable. Hell, I'm willing to personally chip in $100 and buy students a free trip there myself! Plan some hype for the Basketball team/Soccer Team on the Bus as well. Captive audience and get them excited for everything ZIPS that we have going well for us right now. We Zips faithful need to start making calls to local bars to ask them kindly to be playing the MAC Championship game in their establishments. Most importantly though: Zips need to find a way to win the MAC C. Get these younger Zips fans something to get excited about, especially the ones who make the dadgum trip; and carry that excitement over into next year. People want to be a part of something winning, something fun. Nothing beats this opportunity. Find a way Terry. Dadgummit, find a way Terry!
  20. Toledo. If it's a three-way tie, NIU is out by virtue of losing to CMU in the last game. Toledo would be in by virtue of beating CMU earlier in the year. Unfortunately for CMU, there is no chance of getting to the MAC C at this point. The only two possible teams are Toledo and NIU.
  21. I was about to post about this! Because I was gonna say we all have some Z-fund friendly wagers to settle. I'm good with splitting the difference with @kreed5120 since we were matched against each other, if the Broncos win and become 7-5. I too am rooting for WMU, I'd personally like to see a 2005 rematch. GO ZIPS!
