  1. Except people don't want to go to ANY game for 4+ hours, Browns, Ohio State, Cavs or otherwise. I agree that the gameday atmosphere is going to make attendance better, but part of that is shortening the damn games. 4 hours is WAY TO LONG for a game that only takes 1. This isn't 1924, people aren't looking for one thing to entertain themselves for 4 hours.
  2. I'm batting 100% on my prediction, and I think I'd stick with it. I'll happily accept a W against Western to throw off my average. Go Zips!
  3. My bad...problem of having multiple threads open
  4. I don't know how I missed this thread. I used to use this quite frequently when I was researching pieces I was writing: UA Archival services might be the first place to look. They have almost all media ever published by UA stored away somewhere. I'd imagine they also have copies (of some sort of film version) of the games as well. It's worth giving them a call and asking. They will even do a little digging for you and call you back from what I remember, and you can make an appointment to see any of it.
  5. Announced attendance: 11,094.
  6. I agree with this. There's almost no where a student can go to learn about any of this. Get student orgs on board too (cough, the Buchtelite, ZTV) so you can do pre-game interviews/history pieces and things like that. It really seems like Bowden and co. along with the athletic department is now trying to build a culture. Heisman Statue, Charlie Frye honoring, throwbacks...keep doing things like this, and KEEP WINNING, we might end up with something really nice down the road.
  7. I always love hearing the team sing the fight song. GO ZIPS!
  8. Evidence as to why ZN.O > Akron Beacon Journal Zips coverage.
  9. Because we haven't been to Detroit in over a decade. It's a special season if you're doing things you've either never done, or haven't done in a very long time. This team stands a very good chance of going 8-4 in the regular season, which has NEVER happened in school history. Going to Detroit would be icing on the cake. Hell, this team still stands a chance of getting a 10 or 9 win season. The thing is, we don't have last year's defense and we have a lot of young players. Instead of wondering what "could have been" enjoy the reality that we are 3-2 (1-0) and tied for first in the MAC East.
  10. Agreed. He would have ripped that defense to pieces.
  11. We are already having a special season. 3-2 (1-0) and the MAC east is weaker than ever. We don't have to win by 20 to have a special season, all we have to do is win.
  12. I know we've all been down on chapman, but I love what he had to say in this video. He owned up to having a bad 1st half, and showed up/shelled out in the second. Way to go Chapman, proving all the naysayers wrong (including myself).
  13. Body language 1, but also on several plays he made no effort. Yes, Chapman wasn't throwing a crips ball, but I was saw know effort from him on his targets to cath the ball or prevent the defenders from getting it. That's excluding the play you're referring too, and the ESPN commentators. I noticed it before they said anything and thought to myself "wtf are you doing Lane?".
  14. It's 7:57...
  15. This team showed a lot of heart today! Jerome Lane better shape up, or put him on the bench. This team recovered from a helpless postion and won the game!
  16. Another lesson for ZipsNation! But we'll gladly take it! Don't lose faith!
  17. Dadgum it GO ZIPS!
  18. DADGUMIT GO ZIPS!
  19. DADGUMIT! GO ZIPS!!!
  20. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  21. Are you eff'n kidding me.
  22. Defense will hold.
  23. Hand it to this coaching staff. They were able to calm everyone down at half time.
  24. Chapman must have read ZN.O during halftime and responded: "Oh yeah!?"
  25. Nice play with a few seconds left in the quarter! Chapman and the offense working on coming back, gotta give it to them for coming out and playing in the second half.
