Another talented player would be nice and he certainly had value when he was here. That being said, I'm not sure he fits into this team- a team of unselfish high character guys who have ENTIRELY bought into Groce and the program. His transfer tells me maybe he's not that kind of guy.

If I am doing the math right (and we can't assume that after my comment above!), LBJ's Zips could have faced UConn, the champion of what would have been his freshman year. Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. Pretty solid. They beat Jarrett Jack and Will Bynum's Georgia Tech team in the final. The LBJ-less Zips were 13-15 that year with Derrick Tarver, Romeo Travis, Drew Joyce and Matt Futch. WMU rep'd the MAC in the tournament.

I don't see them having many advantages, but for matchups it will be interesting to see if Tribble can slow down Norman and if Enrique can keep Markeese Hastings off of the boards. They are a good rebounding team, so that's one area they could have a slight advantage.

Beating Ball State then losing to a team that quit weeks ago (EMU) is perplexing.

I'm a little slow! Melo was a year older and did a year in college so they came into the same NBA draft.

The Broncos are a dismal 1-10 in their last 11. Somehow, they convincingly beat Ball State by ten on February 18th.

It bears to reason that if theire smalls can take advantage of our bigs in their offense that our bigs should be able to take advantage of their smalls when the Zips are on offense. Frustrating.

I respectfully disagree with respect to the Zips defense against their offense. Their starting lineup is essentially four guards and a stretch three (Shumate) All too often that results in bad switches, poor closeouts and open shooters. Sammy and Enrique cannot cover their players on the perimeter. I hoped Nate had better quickness to made up for Sammy's lack of quickness but I am not seeing it. I do agree that some shooting would go a long way.

Down 18. They have bigger issues than the refs.
