Any of you guys headed to the Zips basketball reception Monday night? I registered but never received a ticket or confirmation. I assume they'll have a list at the door?

My Akron wins over 3.5 may be in peril!

I find it telling that no one has yet posted a game thread. I've done it the last two weeks when no one else did and decided to do an experiment to see how long it would take. Still waiting!

They were taking it one game at a time. Next man up.

They caught @Zipmeister sneaking chicken fingers and brownies to his non-Club Level peon buddies so they're being extra vigilant.

Every kid in attendance gets a free beer and a pack of smokes.

Agreed, the argument is shortsighted, yet, at the end of the day, in today's world simple appeals to people and there's no simpler argument than "you paid $X million dollars for 6 wins since 2019?"

I wouldn't be surprised to hear the teachers' union start back on its attack of the costs of the football program as it did in 2020. The University did a decent job of explaining the costs of leaving the MAC and/or dropping to FCS then, but I could see the continued floundering of the program opening the door to this critique again.

Unless you prioritize other sports like a Gonzaga or Georgetown.

And I don't wholly disagree. I agree the level of talent has improved. My point was more that this level of misery doesn't have one source as its origin (coaching, injuries, bad luck, talent...). This level of incompetence requires failure on many levels.

Nope, not kidding. I could find dozens of posts about the improved talent. There are plenty of posts about how the Zips have the talent to win games.

Well.....sure, but it makes us appreciate them more!! 🤮

They've won one game this year and it was a gift from an FCS team. I don't think they have the talent some of you believe them to have. They are losing to average and bad teams in what some believe to be the worst conference in the FBS. Talent could occasionally overcome some of this misery. To be this bad, it can't just be coaching, talent or bad luck, it has to be a fatal combination of talent and coaching issues.

We may have the privilege of watching the two worst teams in FBS football in two weeks.

They are getting embarrassed by a very average to below average Mac team. Just awful.

For me, 25% excitement, 75% dread.

We could build an edifice larger than the Great Pyramid of Giza will all of the last straws we've had with Akron football over the decades!

I'm a little surprised that I can get a men's GA season pass for less than this.
