Miami's Graham Nicholson won the Lou Groza Award for the nation's best kicker.

There was a point late last year where Sammy moved to the bench. I don't suspect that's going to happen here. Nate seems to be the most logical move to the bench. That would leave a bench of Dawson, Nate, Thornton/Scott, Tavari and Lyles. I think Tavari may be the odd guys out as the rotation thins as the season progresses.

The starting five against Bradley was Tribble, Scott, Nate, Hunter and Enrique, so I suspect Scott was practicing well. He was decent against Bradley but they really made their run with Thornton in, so you may be right!

So guys, what's your best guess for a starting lineup now that Ali is back?

Funny, litigation starts and the NCAA allows him to play. This tells me that they: 1) realize they were wrong or 2) are gutless ****ies who caved to pressure rather than stand on principle. Either is a bad look for the entity that's supposed to be governing intercollegiate sports.

Just seeing his reaction tells you all you need to know.

Finally some good out of a public official. Even a temporary restraining order could possibly get him on the floor for the rest of the season until the matter is determined on its merits. I know that Yost also had some role in the Bandaogo matter.

They're going to call it the Bill Self Subdivision as he's been doing this **** for years with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. This is a move by the NCAA to stave off the big schools breaking away entirely and setting up their own rule structure.

I'll kick in $20. Who's with me?

I think at this point we have what we have. I guess there's a chance that a young guy like Nate will mature into a starring role or it will suddenly click for a guy like Scott, but I think those scenarios are unlikely after 8 games. I like Sammy but he's not an every night star. At 6'9" he's averaging only 3 rebounds a game and is content to survive on the perimeter. At this juncture, I think we just need to hope someone steps up to take that "second man" role every night rather than have one guy we can depend on to do it.

Hoban- Arizona State- OSU's Chip Trayanum in the portal. Call him and tell him he can play both ways for the Zips!

...and misspell your head coach's name in your thank you post. LOL. Hopefully, his new team will equip his helmet with a muzzle.

They also no longer have a person taking tickets at the northeast entrance. Grrrrrrrrr.

Try to pick an organ you have of, like a kidney. They do not want your liver!

As long as that's the case and not a situation of an average kid escaping a situation he doesn't like.

From UMass to ULM to Akron? Ummm...
-
Maybe they have that guy and just need to give him the green light, but I am starting to worry when we are already 8 games in.
-
I hope it wasn't "the plan." The plan should not have been dependent upon a guy you weren't certain would be eligible. A hope maybe but the plan should have been to be without him and if he played then it's an added bonus.

I like the overall talent of this team other than big man depth, but one thing they seriously lack is a second "go to" guy. They really need a guy other than Enrique that can be relied upon in the clutch to get an important basket. You need that end of the game guy that can get his shot and a big man is not usually that guy. Outside of Enrique right now everyone else is a complimentary player.

I think the blue chairs that are sold are always included in the attendance which leads to an inaccurate actual attendance. I don't get why you would make the investment in those seats and not use them, but it's been a repeated problem. As for the lack of a DJ, so be it. I have yet to understand why blaring music has to be a part of the game day experience. I'd actually like to occasionally be able to carry on a conversation with somebody at the game. I've not heard any negative comments about any of the players from the student section, but I am quite a ways away from that section. The student attendance last night was less than it has recently been.

The Zips head to Highland Heights, Kentucky Saturday to face the Norse Men of Northern Kentucky. NKU has represented the Horizon League in the NCAA tournament in 3 of the last 5 years. They are 5-3 heading into a Wednesday night game against Illinois State. NKU was picked to finish atop the Horizon League standings for the second year in a row and Marques Warrick (1st team) and Sam Vinson (2nd team) were All-League selections. Warrick is a 6'2" senior gaurd and is averaging 18.2 ppg. Vinson is a 6'5" junior guard and is averaging 15.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg. The team averages 72.3 ppg. They have won 5 of their last 6 games.

Great defense that produced transition points down the stretch. Love it.

As iffy as Thornton looks at times their best basketball came with him in tonight.
