The Zips head to Highland Heights, Kentucky Saturday to face the Norse Men of Northern Kentucky. NKU has represented the Horizon League in the NCAA tournament in 3 of the last 5 years. They are 5-3 heading into a Wednesday night game against Illinois State. NKU was picked to finish atop the Horizon League standings for the second year in a row and Marques Warrick (1st team) and Sam Vinson (2nd team) were All-League selections. Warrick is a 6'2" senior gaurd and is averaging 18.2 ppg. Vinson is a 6'5" junior guard and is averaging 15.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg. The team averages 72.3 ppg. They have won 5 of their last 6 games.

Great defense that produced transition points down the stretch. Love it.

As iffy as Thornton looks at times their best basketball came with him in tonight.

I've told this story on here before so I apologize to anyone who's heard it before. I'm one of those old guys that repeats stuff. One of my employees is very good friends with a college baseball coach. One of his players who overvalued his talent and thought he was underappreciated came to his office at the end of a season to tell the coach he was considering entering the portal. The coach told him he'd recruited him once and wasn't going to do it a second time and showed him to the door!

I'm curious to see what adjustments were made over the week break. Will the rotations have changed? Will we see another starting lineup?

Bradley fell to 6-2 yesterday with a loss at Indiana State. I am so looking forward to Tuesday. The week off only gives us more time to lament the three consecutive losses.

I'm watching the Toledo/Miami MAC championship and it is damn depressing seeing how far the Zips are behind these teams.
