  1. There's just not "that" guy. They have the benefit of depth but no one that has emerged as that guy to go get a bucket when needed. Obviously, LCJ filled that role for the last couple of years and two years ago you had two decent alternatives if he couldn't do it with X and Cheese. It's going to be interesting to see if any of these guys develop into "go to" guys.
  2. here's a list of his MSU staff which may be more helpful, certainly more recent- https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/mississippi-state-football/mississippi-state-bulldogs-coaching-staff-2019-season-finalizied/ Tony Hughes, Associate Head Coach/Tight Ends (eighth year) Terry Richardson, Assistant Head Coach/Run Game Coordinator/Running Backs (first year) Deke Adams, Defensive Line (first year) Andrew Breiner, Pass Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks (second year) Terrell Buckley, Cornerbacks (fourth year) Marcus Johnson, Offensive Line (second year) Michael Johnson, Wide Receivers (first year) Joey Jones, Special Teams Coordinator (second year) Tem Lukabu, Linebackers (second year) Bob Shoop, Defensive Coordinator/Safeties (second year)
  3. Just a thought. The Browns bye was today, a Sunday. Seems like a great time for a Sunday game.
  4. From reading all of the posts in this thread I can see one problem- there have been too many damn logos. The school needs to pick something and stick with it for a little while. Part of branding is recognition and that's lost when you are always switching things up.
  5. Clarke had the distinction of producing 4 fouls and 2 turnovers in 4 minutes of play against Southern! Yikes! If you have talent and aren't playing for Groce it is clearly an effort thing. As mentioned in here before, Groce sang Dawson's praises in the post-game last week talking about how he should be an example to all young players that scoring isn't the only way to get you on the floor. I suspect Wynn isn't getting that very message. It's too bad as they could use him to help in the rotation with Walton gone. On the topic of Walton, on the radio show the other night someone texted in a question as to what was up with KJ and Groce answered that he decided he didn't want to play basketball any more. I wonder if he decided he just didn't want to play or whether he didn't want to play Groce's way or in the role he had had been placed.
  6. The currently 2-4 Rattlers of Florida A & M come to the JAR next Sunday at 2:00. The Rattlers come north with wins over LeMoyone- Owen College and Fort Valley State and losses to Kansas State, Miami, UC- Riverside and UTEP. 6-4 senior guard MJ Randolph leads the Rattlers at 18.5 ppg and is second in rebounding at 6.2 rpg. 6-5 grad student Bryce Moragne leads rebounding at 7 rpg while scoring 9 ppg scoring. On a positive note, the game will give us a distraction from the Browns. The game is the first part of a doubleheader with the women playing Cleveland State at 5:00.
  7. There was a little pushing/shoving/scuffle in front of the Zips bench.
  8. Refs invited that BS by allowing too much $h!+ in the first half.
  9. Nice game by X tonight.
  10. I'd like to thank Jordyn Dawson for beating on her little brother growing up to help him turn into the scrapper he is today.
  11. I shoulda bet the under!
  12. Zips sloppy so far.
  13. Yep, Reggi is on the state championship games this weekend. I don't like Ali bringing the ball up. He gets pressure and feels the need to beat it through the dribble.
  14. It could be worse. Has anybody seen the awful unis Brimfield AT & T is wearing today?
  15. Nest week is a Sunday game at 2:00.
  16. Game day. The excitement is building.
  17. Interesting article here. You get a sense from the article as to how Moorhead's perspective has changed and why he might have wanted a change like coming to UA. https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2021/12/oregon-offensive-coordinator-joe-moorhead-returns-to-sideline-during-pregame-continues-recovery-from-emergency-surgery-2-months-ago.html?outputType=amp
  18. My idea of progress: Year one- an influx of transfer portal and JUCO talent to bring the program up to speed. 3-4 wins. Year two- Retain players. Improved freshman recruiting class. Continued growth, 2nd year players start to contribute. 5-6 wins. Year three- competing for MAC East title. More movement towards better freshman recruits due to improved program, less reliance on JUCOs and transfers. 8-9 wins. Year four- Zips Nation purchased by Alphabet due to its high traffic and profit potential. Captain Kangaroo retires in Barbados on the proceeds after hosting the largest tailgate in UA history.
  19. Exactly (and God forbid anyone ask him where KJ is).
  20. This is beautiful. Big smile, nice kid, braces, bloody nose, well-spoken...
  21. That's perfectly reasonable. As such, you need to get that out of here. 😛
