  1. South Alabama thumped Coastal Carolina last night, 84-59.
  2. They look so nice in my season scrapbook. 😁
  3. I moved to reserve this year so I am not entirely sure. As I recall, when I looked in the summer it appeared that it had gone up to $100. They issued passes for Lot 1 for season ticket holders but there's no one apparently checking or charging when you enter. I forgot my pass once and no one noticed.
  4. The Zips second game of the MAC-SBC Challenge tips off at 2:00 PM Saturday as the (currently) 15-8 South Alabama Jaguars come into the JAR. The Jags will be coming off of a game tonight at Coastal Carolina. 6' guard Corey Miles leads the Jags at 14.5 ppg. Miles is a transfer from a Captain Kangaroo Unknown College list institution William Jessup. 6'6"junior forward Barry Dunning, Jr. is second in scoring at 12.1 ppg while leading rebounding at 6.7 rpg. A look at the Jags schedule shows some decent wins and some headscratcher losses, so it is tough to get a gauge on the Jags.
  5. I was surprised the Zips didn't make more of an effort to beat him down the court and try to wear him out. Groce mentioned in the post-game how he's consistently improved as he's come into shape after not playing much at Indiana.
  6. Nice win. Ball State is more solid than their record indicates. Sparks is becoming more and more of a force as he gets in shape. His year of sitting at Indiana did him no favors. The offense was fine tonight but the defense was iffy, especially in rotations after they trapped out top off of pick and rolls and ball screens. 10 in a row!
  7. Too tight for this late
  8. Groce have him what looked like a " what in the hell was that?" on the way out.
  9. Groce have him what looked like a " what in the hell was that?" on the way out.
  10. I do like how the Ball State staff dresses old style in suits.
  11. The line is now down to 13 with an under/over of 156.5.
  12. And here we thought their main issue was Stan Heath.
  13. Sparks has been on a little bit of a tear, averaging 23 points and 15.5 rebounds in his last 2 games.
  14. Having the number 11 offense in the MAC is a real resume booster.
  15. I fixed it for you.
  16. I believe he's had a problem with turnover and not replenishing to extent he's lost.
  17. Mike Lewis started off with a bang at Ball State two years ago, winning 20 games in his first season and I thought he was building them into a contender but since they're essentially .500.
  18. I don't know. Beating the #147 team in the KenPom rankings can really give you a boost!
  19. You meant top 25 mid- major, right?
  20. As much as we'd all like to contribute to the GoFundme for PCCC's basketball funeral, they'll make it to Cleveland. They have better than average MAC talent. Pinky just hasn't figured out yet how to get them to play together. Even if he doesn't, there are so many really bad MAC teams that they'll end up in the mix as a .500 team.
  21. Jeff Boals thinks he was fouled (like he does EVERY time a Bobcat misses a shot).
  22. Just watched Miami try to give away a double digit lead and Ohio refuse to accept the gift.
  23. I don't blame him for trying to motivate the administration. I'm just not a fan of the analogy to what are for all intents and purposes the "evil empires" of MLB who win in large part because of their superior budgets.
  24. It just all sounds like a strange unhinged rant. PCCC doesn't have an alum who will step up and help their head football coach to avoid embarrassing the school. It's unlikely anyone is kicking into the NIL pot. Oddly, their sports forum is down today. Maybe it's imploding like their mens athletic program.
  25. Highlights from the Mr. Pinky whinefest for those unable to access the Ohio.com article: "When I watch them, to me, I equate it to Major League Baseball," Senderoff said. "This is something that maybe people don't quite understand. They are right now in this conference, like when I grew up it was the New York Yankees or nowadays like the Los Angeles Dodgers." "They have great players. They get in what's free agency. They get the best free agents in our league. They have an unbelievable coach who does a great job. I refer to John Groce as like Joe Torre. He is a great coach. They are undefeated. "The free agents they get, they develop their returning players, they got Joe Torre as the head coach and you are just sitting there saying I am trying my best to compete and right now my team, we did not play great tonight," Senderoff said. "I gotta credit Akron for that to some degree. They played really well." Free agents? Dodgers? Yankees? Those are clearly criticisms and/or jealousy of Akron's NIL status. Unfortunately, Senderoff doesn't recognize that PCCC exists on a level playing field to UA. It's not the Dodgers and Guardians. The only difference is that Groce's approach and success attracts top talent and has gained the loyalty of alums and fans.
