  1. MONEY LINE BABY!
  2. There were years I could see this happening. I don't see a team with guys like Gray, Scott, Wilson and the Johnsons getting punked.
  3. DraftKings has it Zips +2.5 and the under/over at 144.5. Those number are all about getting equal money on both sides of the equation, but the betting public obviously sees Kent's pace and defense impacting the result.
  4. Total under 135- PCCC wins Total over 135- Zips win Total over 155- Zips win big
  5. There will invariably be some chippiness, especially if the Zips get on a run. The Zips need to keep their composure if that happens. I think Isaiah Gray is important in this one, especially if he's the guy to guard Davis. When Davis came to KSU, I didn't think much of him after looking at some of his high school clips but he has really turned into a fine player.
  6. The Zips app just sent me the Miami score from Saturday. I think they're a little more proud of that one. LOL.
  7. 7 turnovers and 4 assists. There goes the assist to turnover ratio.
  8. The Zips head to the barn in Brimfield Friday night to face the arch-rival. The Flushes come into the game at an uncharacteristic 13-7 and are 4-4 in the MAC. They are coming off of a home win against BG. VonCameron Davis leads the team at 15.4 ppg. Jalen Sullinger, fresh off of his brief tour of Furman in South Carolina, averages 11.8 ppg. Cli’ron Hornbeak (that sounds like some rare Australian bird) leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 rpg. They are first in MAC defense and last in offense. They are 11th in field goal percentage, led by Sullinger’s awful shooting thus far. It will be interesting to see how these teams with such different styles plays out. I predict it will be extra chippy and Mr. Pinky will be extra pink. I expect Gray to bounce off of Davis quite a bit as he’s the Zips best body up defender.
  9. Zips getting on the floor with a minute left and up 14. That's a great sign.
  10. One aspect overlooked in Nate's game is his anticipation on defense resulting in steals and breakaways.
  11. Feed is sketchy tonight.
  12. 12 points and 10 boards for Gray tonight. That kid always comes to play.
  13. We just saw a 15 minute example of how the Zips could lose a MAC game.
  14. Hmmm, I'm only seeing one.
  15. Not a pretty half. Great start then a bunch of uninspired slop.
  16. Okonkwo with a tech. Have a seat young man. PS- you'll get more calls if you go up strong.
  17. Zips playing like they've never seen a zone.
  18. Nice ball movement so far. Groce said in the post-game Saturday that the kids are unselfish and see every shot as "their" shot. It really looks like that.
  19. Rough first half offensively on 2 for 9 from the field, but 7 boards and 2 blocks. Really active.
  20. Hey Zips fans, as you wait for the NIU game the Mad Ants are also playing now on ESPN+ with Enrique!
  21. On a night Okonkwo runs up the silly fouls, Lyles has a substandard game, the threes don't fall and the other team gets hot, this team will lose. I like this team and their chances to win the MAC but history tells me there will be speed bumps along the way, including another injury or two.
  22. It will be because we: 1) lack a viable backup big; 2) have an unchallenging OOC schedule; or 3) are playing too fast.
  23. Scott Walter
  24. History tells me this season will bring at least one inexplicable loss that will lead to the grinding of teeth, wringing of hands and questioning of our love for this team.
  25. The line is Zips -15, under/over is 154. Add a direction to the name of your school in MAC basketball and I immediately lose interest.
