I felt for the folks that had to play in the afternoon flight. The morning weather wasn't great but the afternoon weather looked really ugly.

One of the problems with the judicial side of this is that there are many cases in many different courts. That may result in different ansers for different players.

Some tidbits from the golf outing: * Many close to the program believe this is one of the most talented teams we've had. * There may be a big judicial decision soon that impacts Evan's eligibility. * The big man from Western Michigan, Burton, has a sprained ankle and could be out 4-6 weeks. * The kid from North Florida, Oriol, is a real shooter from distance. * The players, just like the teams in the past, really seem so enjoy each other.

I want to be optimistic like some of you good faithful Zips fans but I can't ignore the the Talking Heads song "Same as it ever was" playing in the back of my head.

Encouraged or discouraged, wasn't this the type of game the Zips were supposed to be competitive in by now? Not winning necessarily, but not embarrassed by a .500 Big 10 team.

Especially when they undoubtedly had limited reps when Puffenbarger was still in the mix.

I like Broughton. I've liked him since I saw him in the Spring game/open practice last year. There will certainly be growing pains but I like his multi-dimensional game and that he's a Zip recruit rather than a transfer.

RIP Len Paul. A great Zip through and through. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2026/08/25/len-paul-obituary-akron-zips-basketball-legacy/91459583007/

On a positive note for them, the Snobcats won't have that whiney puke Aidan Hadaway on the roster anymore.

I see that even ChatGPT doesn't anticipate a first down for the Zips. LOL

I'm calling a quick kick when I win this thing.

That was my thought but there's all kinds of conflicting info on these guys.

There's a report on X that Tavari has entered the transfer portal, from a guy named Travis Branham.

...and then we can complain that we don't have enough small quick guards!

Along with their history of losing and/or caving.

Enrique has enough on film now between his limited NBA play and the G-League. At this juncture he needs a team to believe in him more than he needs stellar rookie league performances.

The basketball Hunger Games.

It really does feel like a great get off of the portal (with the added bonus of knowing exactly what we're getting)!

Heeeeeeee's baaaaaaccckkkk!!!!! Go check out the Akron Men's bb X pictures from today.

The paperwork on Evan is ready to go if he's granted the ability to play by the NCAA or the court.

Gracias!

He also wasn't quick and wasn't a decent defender and that doesn't work in a Groce scheme.

I've never seen fans take more to such an average player.
