  1. This helps explain the reluctance of the conferences- https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2904115-report-at-least-10-big-ten-football-players-have-heart-condition-myocarditis
  2. Easy there dre. I understand what he is trying to say. I'm just recognizing the irony of him commenting on crime.
  3. Interesting choice given that old Ray was involved in the murder of a man from Akron. He certainly does know crime.
  4. i just hope to hell that at a time the University and Athletics are facing millions of dollars in cuts that they're not sending the equipment truck of the 0-11 football team to North Carolina for new graphics. That would not only be financially irresponsible, but would be "putting lipstick on a pig." Let's hope it is there for warranty work.
  5. Sounds like the Detroit Free Press is waffling a little on the story. Official vote is tonight.
  6. Sorry, I missed it.
  7. Big 10 pulling the plug on fall sports. https://nypost.com/2020/08/10/big-ten-cancels-football-fall-sports-in-big-coronavirus-blow/
  8. He apparently fails to recognize that pounding on his keyboard like an illiterate hillbilly does little to help his credibility. Just put him on IGNORE.
  9. That's yet another beauty of the $60 GA season pass. I'm not losing a wink of sleep!
  10. Title IX is one of the prices paid for receiving federal funding, not an NCAA requirement. I don't think many schools want to forego that funding. I'm with you for a separation and a new look at things.
  11. I don't know what it was but I am confident it didn't happen in an English or sales class.
  12. Wow, I guess I'll cast my vote now for zero.
  13. Shall we take a vote on who should resign from ZipsNation?
  14. You guys are all sounding way too negative. Have you ever played a game? ?
  15. What did they say that was so offensive?
  16. How about they get half of the actual profits and losses? How about the offsetting checks they get from the profits against their scholarship? I'm always amused by people who want to be "partners" but don't want to be partners in the bad as well as the good.
  17. Technically, it is now T-Mobile football.
  18. No, more of a laser tag thing. It's 21st century stuff!
  19. I heard they are going to playing 7 on 7 as there's more social distancing in that format.
  20. Every time you touch the keyboard the value of our UA degrees diminishes.
  21. The point of college athletics depends in large part upon the institution. For the P5 schools, it's all about money and prestige. For schools like Wooster and Kenyon, it's about the further development of the person playing. The problem is that the schools in the middle like those in the MAC are stuck in the infernal cycle of striking the balance between those two extreme goals and as a result often fail at both.
  22. Thanks for posting this and welcome to ZipsNation. Can't get enough of this kind of stuff especially in the vast desert of UA sports right now.
  23. For me, it's very simple. When the medical EXPERTS, those with education and experience, tell me to do something, I do it. If they want to give me advice on replacing brakes or how to bale a cake, no thanks. If they want to dip into my area of expertise and give advice, no thanks. They want to give me advice from their area of expertise as to how to avoid getting or spreading a pandemic virus, I'm taking it over the advice of angry internet posters. I don't care what some of the doctors may have said months ago at the start of the epidemic. It's quite easy to wear a mask and maintain social distance and I'd rather err on the side of caution. You can't reverse the time to wear it after Aunt Tilly drops dead. Oh, and spare me the political talk. I'm pretty darn conservative.
  24. Looks like one of our posters was asked to wear in mask at Walmart- https://nypost.com/2020/07/24/man-charged-after-brandishing-gun-during-walmart-mask-dispute/
  25. Georgetown has football. They play in the Patriot League as I recall. I actually like their athletics model. Kreed makes a good point- Infocison can't be deconstructed and the debt forgiven. It's a reality the committee and UA will have to live with for years to come. Rather then lament its existence, they need to figure out a way to make UA events the biggest events in Infocision every year rather than the Hoban- St. V game and Founder's Day.
