  1. Okay, since we've gone there, look what I had in my basement you hosers-
  2. Tax season (and a bit of OCD).
  3. In the first 4 MAC games, the Zips gave up an average of 58 points per game. In the last three, that's ballooned to 81 ppg. On offense, in the first 4 they averaged 75 ppg while in the last three they've averaged 86.
  4. I'd like to see that when they get up big they don't have those slides, but rather keep stepping on the necks of their opponents to the point where the game is over earlier. Then they could get those bench kids some much needed court experience and give them the base to become more valuable contributors down the line. Giving up double digit leads does not promote this.
  5. The Zips depth is starting to concern me. As for average minutes per game in MAC play, LCJ is averaging 35.6; Cheese- 33.1; X- 31.2; Banks- 32.2; Riak- 22; Reece- 14.2; Tribble- 14.2; Ali- 10; Sayles- 5.6; and Dawson 3.3. Reece is productive from the bench but the rest are bringing very little offensively. Tribble shows promise and Ali plays hard, but they've not contributed much on the offensive end. Dawson is still settling in. Those bench players are only scoring a total of 9.2 ppg. They're going to need more from the bench.
  6. I'd much prefer for the Kittens to have a coach I could hate or at least feel sorry for. I think Boals is a solid coach and a solid guy.
  7. SVSM grad Javon Graves comes home Tuesday night to lead his 13-7 Buffalo Bulls into the JAR. Graves (#3), a 6’3” junior guard, leads Canada with 16.6 ppg while pulling down 5 rebounds a game. 6”7” sophomore Josh Mballa (#34) leads rebounding at 8.8. rpg while scoring 10 ppg. Canada is fresh off of a loss to PCCC They started the MAC season 0-2, losing at home to NIU by a point and losing at Muncie. They then won 4 in a row against Miami, OU, CMU and WMU before falling to Ravenna. Canada has dominated the Greater Buffalo area this year with wins over Canisius, St. Bonaventure and Niagara.
  8. Whew. Glad to get out of that one with a win and no injuries. Need to survive games like that. It won't take Boles long to get that team back in the mix at the top.
  9. Now no dumb fouls on a 3 pointer.
  10. Lunden Mcday is the only player in NCAA D1 basketball that follows his own shot.
  11. Yep, giving up 80+ to a team averaging 71.
  12. Damnit, that's just what I mean. The offense falls asleep, the defensive intensity slips and they are back in the game.
  13. I don't like the Zips propensity to let teams back in the game. I like their resiliency in fighting back, but I'd prefer them to stem those runs faster.
  14. Zips 70-62.
  15. History, even very recent history, shows us that things in the MAC can change very quickly. The Zips were predicted to be 5th in the East. Two weeks ago it was all about PCCC and the Zips in the East. Toledo was not living up to its potential, BG and Buffalo were to be the class of the East. I like what I have seen from the Zips, both in effort and in talent, but there's a long way yet to go. Avoid injuries, fight through those off nights and navigate around a slump and they have something special, but there's a lot of basketball left. Go Zips!
  16. I've been critical of GT's coverage of the Zips over the last couple of years, but he's been okay recently. I like the stuff he is getting from the Groce and the players. Here's hoping he keeps it up.
  17. I have a couple of mint Matthew Wilsons available.
  18. Sole possession with another team? LOL.
  19. I'll make you a special deal. I'll sell you 2 Dru bobbleheads for $100!
  20. On Zips Nation, those chickens have hatched, fully grown and have produced new eggs.
  21. Without those transfers the Zips would be like Miami and we'd all be pi$$ing and moaning about how the team wasn't developing fast enough. We all saw the incessant whining and griping from some impatient posters the first couple of years of Groce when he was rebuilding the program. Can you imagine what we'd be hearing now if he'd have focused solely on freshmen instead of mixing in transfers/jucos?
  22. Dru got a bobblehead.
  23. Good for Romeo. I think he stays active with the program. At the ice cream social, Groce mentioned that Romeo gave him the idea as a way to engage fans.
