  1. At 6'6" Jackson's running away with the MAC rebounding title. No one else is even close and no one in the MAC has averaged as many per game since the 16-17 season. He's also averaging 12 ppg making him the only MAC player averaging a double double. That's my reason for including him. I don't buy the no depth argument for Toledo. They should be able to win with the seven dwarfs on the roster with the Jacksons and Knapke.
  2. Nice job. I'd work in Willie Jackson somewhere and possibly Plowden.
  3. Off of an impressive win against BG, the Zips head to Mount Pleasant Friday night to face the 13-10 Chippewas. 6'5" senior guard Kevin McKay leads the Chipps in scoring and rebounding at 15 ppg and nearly 7 rpg. David DiLeo scores 14+ while kicking in nearly 5 rpg. While their overall record is not outstanding they are 11-2 at home with wins over NIU, Toledo, Ball State and BG in Mount Pleasant. They are coming off of two losses to Canada and Eastern. They were predicted to finish 4th in the West.
  4. Great win for the Zips. Most importantly did not let them back in the game. MD is right on Riak. He was big on defense tonight when BG went to the basket. He disrupted a lot of shots. Loved how they mixed up the defense tonight. Trapping on the ball screen then switching it then getting through the picks; man to man then 1-3-1 then back to man. Kept them on their toes all night.
  5. BG does not like the 1-3-1.
  6. Turner leads the MAC in uncalled travels.
  7. Too much celebration too early.
  8. Loren having a rough half.
  9. About time X took advantage of the smaller defender.
  10. Definitely need more from X in the second half.
  11. Zips are doing a far better job of slowing down Turner than BG is doing on LCJ. Somebody needs to step up and help LCJ on offense in the second half.
  12. Quite a half for LCJ.
  13. Plowden is a real player.
  14. Trapping Turner on the ball screens.
  15. As painful as the EMU game was, I think it gave the coaches a little faith in the freshmen subs.
  16. Three freshmen on the floor for the Zips.
  17. Fields all over LCJ.
  18. Looks like Jayden lost a bet and had to take on Matiss's braids. Looks better on Jayden.
  19. In their last three games, the Zips have scored 25, 33 in the first half 25. They have to get off to a better start tonight.
  20. Recruits need to be shown examples like this of where a free UA education can take them.
  21. BG website says he's shooting .379 from the field, .318 from 3-point range and .687 on free throws in 31.1 minutes per game. Those go up to .405, .339 and .703 in MAC play. He's their second leading scorer and has twice the assists if the next closest player.
  22. Ball Screen - A ball screen is when an offensive player sets a screen for another offensive player who currently has the ball in possession. Translation- when those guys run into each other out top.
  23. His lateral quickness concerns me. Actually, Cheese would probably get the assignment of primarily guarding Turner. They are switching quite a bit on ball screens.
  24. I said this before, but I think it bears repeating- Banks being healthy is critical. Turner may be the best player in the MAC and Channel is the logical guy to guard him and the Zips best defender. Also, I'm not sure how the lineup adjusts if he's out. I'm assuming Tribble steps in.
  25. Yep, going into the rivalry game with Toledo no less.
