  1. Jayden frustrates the hell out of me but at least he runs the floor well.
  2. The scoreboard says flowers has two fouls.
  3. Shot clock never started.
  4. I think he'll come in right after McIntyre. He seems just that buried right now.
  5. The Mason Park youth basketball 2-0 halftime game is more entertaining than that first half.
  6. A run to a road game in the 1st round of the MAC tournament.
  7. These refs are awful, but they are equal opportunity awful.
  8. Groce went after the ref in the last time out.
  9. Some ugly basketball the last 3 or 4 minutes.
  10. Didn't see it but I thought that might be the case. Sayles and Banks first subs in
  11. Small Carnegie Mellon type crowd so far.
  12. Toles in street clothes again.
  13. Buffalo is certainly the cream of the crop, but they'll have an off night when some team catches them. Other than Buffalo, I really think Toledo will be good.
  14. I think Banks starting makes more sense as Cheese also has to put in minutes backing up Jackson. If the above guys work out as guessed, that's a 9 man rotation which is enough. Just wish we had a back up point other than Cheese (not that I am unhappy with him).
  15. Game day. Curious to see where our player rotation for MAC play is after the OOC schedule. Obviously, LCJ, Utomi, Ivey, Cheese or Banks, Riak, Banks or Cheese as the first six. I'd think Banks will start as Cheese needs to play backup point in addition to playing some 2. Looks like Sayles is now the second big man, with E-man seeing fewer minutes. Hopefully, Roscoe has earned some minutes back after a couple of rough weeks. I don't think we can count on Toles at this point and I think Scotty Walter and K-lack can settle into comfortable seats on the bench in league play. GO ZIPS!
  16. Sheeeeeeesh! Eat one little booger....
  17. "Respectfully disagree"??????? We'll have none of that on this forum. I demand that you call me names, question my intelligence and use mean emoticons!
  18. I think Tyrell could be an asset to the Zips, but I wouldn't characterize him as a brilliant play caller. He's done an excellent job of building a program, getting exceptional talent to come to Hoban and getting the kids to always play hard, and those qualities would benefit any program. However, as a play caller, I've seen him as solid but unspectacular. He sticks with what works and that's a real positive, but they generally so overwhelm other teams with their talent that he hasn't had to be creative.
  19. I saw he passed on playing in a couple of All-Star games. I wonder what the logic is in that. Injury concerns? Here's the Beacon article- https://www.ohio.com/sports/20190102/university-of-akron-football-jamal-davis-ii-invited-to-nfl-combine
  20. That game was crazy. Two immediate thoughts when watching are: 1) How does Hawkins keep his job? 2) Too bad Virshon was such a damn head case.
  21. Illinois is a mess across the board in athletics. Football may be even worse than basketball.
  22. For the last two years, 2014-15 and 2012-13.
  23. The MAC season kicks off next Saturday at the JAR as the 6-7 Western Michigan Broncos come to town. WMU has wins against Detroit, Oakland, Aquinas, Southern, YSU and UC Riverside and losses to Cincinnati, Michigan, Milwaukee, Dayton, USC Upstate, NIcholls State and Ole Miss. They beat Detroit Mercy by 13 while the Zips beat the Titans by 12. 6-1 sophomore guard Michael Flowers leads the Broncos in scoring at 16.2 ppg while 7 foot senior center Seth Dugan scores 15.1 ppg. Dugan leads the Broncos in rebounding at 8.4 rpg. Last year, they were 17-15 overall and 9-9 in the MAC. They are still coached by Steve Hawkins, who is coaching the Broncos for a 16th season. They were picked to be the 4th place team in the West in the preseason MAC poll.
