  1. I wonder if Nick Harney pouts during summer league games.
  2. I sure hope Bethune-Cookman and Lipscomb are back. I can pay for my season tickets just by scalping my tickets for those two highlight games.
  3. I get it, his actions hurt a promising season. I think you miss my point that he was not even a borderline NBA talent. Also, it has been 2 years, I think it's time for us all to get over it.
  4. Tree was a fantastic MAC player. He was not, nor will he ever be, an NBA talent.
  5. If he wouldn't adapt, there's no way NBA players expend the effort his defense requires.
  6. I wouldn't give up a good college job for a non-premier NBA job and certainly not for that group of toolbags known as the Houston Rockets.
  7. Well now you've done it. You know this is going on your permanent record, right?
  8. Sure, I'd love the Zips to be in a P5 conference, but it's a two way street. If I was single, I'd like to date Kate Upton, but she probably would not return my call. Those conferences have to want you, and that's not happening without a sustained period of success against teams of that level. I would opt for smaller advances, to a conference like the AAC. As for critical posters, this is an online discussion forum, People taking a contrary position or asking questions is part of a discussion, not a cause for excessive whining.
  9. He's not an NBA player, well, maybe the Nepal Basketball Association. He can dream, but he's not even a solid NDBL level talent at this point.
  10. The only goof on here that I recall wanting changes was some guy with a name like Old Man Crowe, after the tournament. Making suggestions to improve the schedule isn't an indictment of the program's leadership. GoZips was corrected for essentially defaming the Courage Award winner by completely misidentfying and mischaracterizing her.
  11. I think some of us understand that UA is trying to improve the schedule, but at the same time, I can't understand the pi$$y attitude towards fans wanting that stronger schedule or challenging the credibility of statements about things like UA joining the ACC or questioning UA turning down $60K to play. It's a DISCUSSION based forum, not an "I'll take my keyboard and go home now" forum because you're somehow offended by the other side of the discussion.
  12. Hope it gives him the sweats. I actually meant Bethune Cookman, but my point's the same.
  13. OK, since the decision has been made to again pummel the cold rotting carcass of this poor damn horse, the odds of a MAC team getting an at large bid are slim. That being said, the chance of a MAC team getting an at-large bid that has luminaries like Gardner Webb on the schedule is 0%. I'd rather have that slim chance rather than none, even if the team has to play for $60K. it's like playing the same damn par 3 golf course every day. At some point, you have to try something new and better. Oh, I hear they are now looking into joining the AFC North or the Premier League.
  14. Easy there sport, I never said we were.
  15. If anyone legitimately believes that our university has any chance of joining the ACC, I want what they're having. If anyone in the athletic department is wasting time on it, I think I want my money back. As for the attitude that we're too damn proud to take $60K for a game, you might want to look into a lifetime NIT pass as the Bethune Cookman's of the world and 21 wins over patsies will get you no respect nationally or from any selection committee.
  16. I think he was just that deep on the depth chart. I don't think he was in the discussion to play at OSU this year. He just wasn't a top 10 team talent. However, that does not mean he can't be very productive at the MAC level. His high school highlight videos are certainly indicative that there's some talent there.
  17. I am hoping Warren Ball can help make us our shortcomings at RB. He's been buried on the bench at OSU, but being behind guys like Hyde and Elliott is certainly not an indictment of his talent.
  18. Very impressed by the depth and quality of our receivers. Have just the opposite impression of out DB's, though a couple were decent.
  19. My quick observations from the time I was there: 1) Gladney will eventually start at WR, if his attitude stays in check. 2) Chapman is really pressing Woodson at QB. 3) The o-line is still coming together. 4) If UA could guaranty that all games would be played on 70 degree sunny days, they'd sell a lot of tickets.
  20. Dear Coach Boals- Welcome to Stony Brook- http://nypost.com/2016/04/11/stony-brook-basketball-player-accused-of-breaking-into-car-stealing-5k-tax-return/ Aaaaaaah, the joys of being a college coach.
  21. On a completely unrelated topic, the newest E:60 on EPSN tomorrow night will be about our old Zip fan favorite Bobby Hurley.
  22. Good for Boals. Too often, jobs come open due to a failure by the prior staff, but just the opposite is true here. Hope he can build on the foundation of his predecessor.
  23. In today's economy at UA and Akron as a whole, no one is going to finance a new arena. Once you come to that conclusion, the actual physical plant (the physical box of the building) of the JAR is okay. They need to dump that idiotic track and glass barrier between the levels, do away with that gap, improve the quality of the reserved seating and change the pitch of all of the seating to improve the sight lines. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to see the entire floor from every seat unless the doofus in front of you is standing. Bringing those upper level fans closer to the floor would also help the home team atmosphere. Nice graphics in the floor and adding color to some bleachers does nothing for the fan experience.
  24. The year we think RPI is unimportant the committee will decide it is important. That's the problem with the committee- any member is free to use whatever measure they want, whether it's RPI, Kenpom, pompom, coin flip or magic 8 ball.
  25. This tournament again shows that the story EVERY YEAR is about the small school underdogs, the Arkansas Little Rocks, Steven F, Austins, Middle Tennessees and the like. That's what draws the interest of the common fans. Maybe, just maybe, the NCAA will wake up some day and realize that mid-majors spur interest and extend the reach of the game.
