  1. I'm jealous of where that program has gone since they were at the JAR. They were plenty solid then and very similar to UA quality-wise, but they've built on that to where they are now (a step above the Zips).
  2. In my day, we'd send off smoke signals to the teams a county over and challenge them to a basketball contest.
  3. It wasn't all that long ago we had something going with MTSU.
  4. East there L, it was a joke!
  5. Three games in three nights shouldn't be a problem for college players. Playing in that setting, I'm not sure that fewer games are any great benefit and the sample size is way too small to reach any strong conclusions. In the end, there's no perfect answer. The tournament winner getting the NCAA bid rewards the hot team, maybe the best team to go because they are peaking. The regular season winner would send the team with the more impressive body of work.
  6. That's the way to get something like that done- a Twitter post. If that fails, they should give Craigslist a shot.
  7. Looked at the UTA roster and stats. Bigs are a 7-1 guy, two 6-9's and two 6-8's. Leading scorer is Sun Belt Conference POY 6-9 junior forward Kevin Hervey, averaging 17.2 ppg and 8.6 rpg. Shoots quite a few threes, a bag man with range similar to Kwan. They were 13-0 at home this year. Averaged 78.1 points per game, gave up 69.6.
  8. Just to be the contrarian, a run by any MAC team would be good for the MAC. That's the kind of visibility a conference needs to be on the radar for at large berths.
  9. I think they should implement the old NBA 3 to make 2 free throw rule!
  10. Nice accomplishment for the kids and KD.
  11. I thought they were done when they went down 6.
  12. Our Zips showed some heart tonight! Nice job Zips.
  13. ...as the seasons swirls down the ...
  14. Let's go Zips. Time for a run
  15. No, Antino is a third year junior. You may be thinking about Aron Jackson who had a redshirt season.
  16. Good luck to him. I think he's Kay Felder without the overall skills, but I wish him well as his success would be good for the MAC.
  17. Yes it is. I am in a nationwide bracket competition and the opening games dropped me to 4th place (out of 5 competitors).
  18. Unfortunately, scientific studies have conclusively established that drug dealers and other criminals are generally better basketball players than altar boys and honor roll students.
  19. Damn, that Cal loss completely ruined my NIT bracket.
  20. Shhhhhhhhhh, I have them in my bracket and I am trying to keep them a secret!
  21. $60 for a season GA ticket to 15 games. It isn't getting more reasonable than that. Also, as much as we'd like to see more people at the JAR, UA is consistently in the top third in MAC attendance.
  22. I don't think the KD detractors realize that the only reason for their complaints is the level of expectation KD has brought to the Zips program. There weren't discussions like this when Dan Hipsher was recruiting division 2 level players to UA (including his own kids). The program was mired in mediocrity and we had no expectations, happy to be occasionally competitive. Now, based upon KD's hard work, we've been to the summit of the MAC and want more. We're not having these discussions without the KD based success. Changing course from the guy that's brought the program here is more likely to set it back rather than further the success. Don't get me wrong. I'm the guy in the bleachers smarter than the coaches and I whine about bad defense on dribble penetration and all of the other faults we beat to death on here, but to jump ship here or make major changes would be the NCAA basketball equivalent of the the New Coke.
  23. Maybe they can get an equity line on that empty behemoth of a football stadium.
