  1. Let's also not forget, these are 18 to 22 year old boys. Let's all hope we're not judged on some of the quick decisions we made at that age.
  2. I was always far more concerned with Big Dog playing defense at the three point line than I was with him with the ball at the three point line!
  3. It seems like just yesterday that we were discussing how deep we were at guard but that we needed some bigs to step up next year. How quickly things can change.
  4. Fair enough Wadszip. I see Ivey at he 2 and Utomi at the 3, or vise versa. I think there may be two starters out there that are not currently enrolled at UA.
  5. I like Ivey, but he's not a ballhandler. He dribbles way too high without much finesse or control. Somewhere there's a JUCO kid that can hold that down.
  6. I've always been a "pro-transfer guy" in cases where a coach leaves a school as that player-coach relationship is often what drew a kid to a school in the fist place. Now that it's "my school", I am good and pi$$ed off that these kids are jumping ship, especially those jumping to Duquesne, but I'd be a hypocrite if I pitched a fit about it. Good luck to them. Time to move on.
  7. I wonder if these kids ever stop to wonder why they weren't offered by any A-10 schools coming out of high school.
  8. Good Lord. Would someone "in the know" please private message me and let me out of my misery?
  9. Oh, I've seen it and I clearly understand people talk with their money. I just don't understand it in THIS situation.
  10. I get the disappointment with losing him, but I don't get the type of anger that results in you withdrawing your money. Maybe if I knew some of the behind the scenes stuff I'd get it.
  11. He was the HIGHEST PAID COACH WITH THE HIGHEST BASKETBALL BUDGET IN THE MAC. Other than get him into another conference or retroactively make his dad an alum, what else could they do for him? They need to realize that they are UA Alums, not University of Dambrot alums.
  12. Someone has finally admitted Big Dog weighs 3 bills! Good luck to him. It should give him a chance to perform against strong competition.
  13. Don't you be dissin' the Bogalusa Bomber!
  14. Charlie Spikes was taller than Antino Jackson and would have qualified for in-state tuition rates at LSU.
  15. Two words- basketball spanx.
  16. Simple personal observation from standing next to him in the lobby at the JAR. I would also estimate him at approximately 275 pounds.
  17. Kind of a shame that in today's day and age that loyalty, which used to be expected, is now the exception.
  18. Better than than "throw it up"!
  19. Sorry, we got caught up in the LSU/Akron and Boals recruiting debates.
  20. Yep. I stood next to Antino at the Zips pre-season event and he was clearly taller then me and I'm about 5'10".
  21. How did Boals not recruit him to OSU?
  22. OK, I've been lured in. It's a slow night. 38 LSU players have played in the NBA or ABA, including Shaq, Pete Maravich, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, John Chaney and Bob Petit. Akron's had 4 and none since 1976 when Nathanile Barnett played 12 games for the Indiana Pacers in the ABA. As a 20 year old basketball player, I suspect Antino is more concerned with a school's basketball tradition and where the school may take him in basketball than he is with the academic reputation behind his Master's Degree. Yes, I know they are bottom dwellers in the SEC right now, but I'd bet the Shejiang LIons, Maccabi Tel Aviv BC or the Frankfurt Skyliners are more likely to recognize LSU on a basketball resume.
  23. We've clearly passed over into "who gives a $h!+" mode.
  24. Per US News and World Report rankings, LSU is rated the 135th National University. Akron is "rank not published." I have no idea what the hell that means. We went 16 hours without a post and now we're on this. Obviously a slow day. LOL. LOI day tomorrow and we're....here.
