  1. Anyone have an update or any insight on that situation?
  2. Sure, this team is very deep. While it may have depth, it has not developed leaders or a go to guy in the clutch. There's nobody on that team who's a coach on the floor or who I see take control of a situation or attempt to rally the troops. I keep waiting for it to click, but wonder if it will for this group. I'm also becoming frustrated with our rotations. When a group is clicking or a player is hot, ride it. Instead, we often seem to be making substitutions off a chart created before the game (like a CYO coach with a 12 kid team that has to make sure every kid plays a quarter).
  3. An on the road loss to the pre-season west favorite is no anything to get worked up over. It certainly has the benefit of squelching the ridiculous predictions of us going undefeated in the MAC. The 21-8 run by CMU after the Zips took the lead was disconcerting. I sure wish they could get Reggie to play that aggressively on offense every night.
  4. That's ridiculous. I sit in the lower bowl, splitting the season with a buddy. There have been empty seats down there all season. There are two seats next to mine that no one has sat in for the last two seasons.
  5. What an odd game. That 6 or 8 minute stretch in the first half was as good as I've seen them play all year, but they had some very bad spells the rest of the game. The Zips seemed to have problems putting their bodies on the Broncos when going to the board with some awful or non-existent blockouts. It seems to me that Noah is still just a little tentative, but I expect that to dissipate with time, and Forsythe's rust will go away with time. Kwan really seems to be struggling and I keep hoping for that breakout game that boosts his confidence. I really like the way Ivey is working on defense. His offense hasn't yet arrived, but he's working as hard as anybody on the defensive end. This team leaves me scratching my head, but as long as they keep winning I'll be happy to scratch my head like I've come down with the mange.
  6. I was also able to concentrate on the game more without being distracted by an angry 12 year old coaching Buffalo.
  7. Nice work by Justin Moss. From MAC MVP to thief to the Orangeville A's of the National Basketball League of Canada.
  8. They are 4-13. I'll stick with awful.
  9. Looking at last night's MAC scores, it could be worse. Miami lost to SC State and at least we didn't play Oberlin.
  10. It's nice to have that weapon at his height, but he relies on it too much at times.
  11. That was ugly. I love the 11-2 record, but that Lipscomb team was awful and we let them stay in the game. They'd better wake the h--- up, it only gets tougher from here. I like it when we run the offense through the post, but we're falling into passing the ball inside then having 4 players just standing watching.
  12. All four of their fans look like they are at the game as a condition of their probation.
  13. The Big Daddies of Lipscomb (actually the Bisons) visit the JAR on Saturday, January 2nd. They are from the Atlantic Sun Conference and are 144th in the country in points scored per game (75.6 ppg), 310th in points allowed per game (78.9 ppg), 231st in field goal percentage (.428) and 251st in field goal percentage allowed (.445). Decent size with a 7'-2", 6'-10", two 6'-9'' and a 6'-8". A 6 foot guard named Hampton is their leading scorer averaging 15.3 ppg. Should be a real barnburner at the JAR (yawn)
  14. I hope the Zips don't overlook SCSU in anticipation of that huge Lipscomb matchup this weekend.
  15. I'd like to see Reggie and Jake take a lesson from this. Occasionally putting the ball on the floor will pay dividends as the D won't always look to run at you at the 3 point line.
  16. I can feel the anticipation building- no posts for 30 hours. LOL.
  17. Amen. We have too many guys without the skill or inclination to occasionally put the ball on the floor and drive (McAdams, Kretzer, Kwan, etc...) rather than hoist the three every time. I love the threes when they are dropping, but there needs to be some fear by the other team that if they run at the shooter he will go by them. I'd really like to see Kwan work the post a little more rather than shoot so many threes. We were also pretty awful in transition last night.
  18. UGLY. Conversation with my lovely wife during the game that summed it up: Wife: "How did we lose our big lead?" Clark: "By sucking."
  19. Hopefully, the game is such that we can all leave early when the Zips are way ahead and working in the backups. My memory of last year is that little Coppin point guard driving Noah crazy. He must have had 5 or 6 steals.
  20. Just to clarify, this is not Arkansas Pine Bluff!!
  21. I like how the NCAA sped up the game with the 30 second shot clock, but now have the refs calling everything. Nothing like lots of foul shots to bring excitement to the game.
  22. Love how Antino went over and gave KD a hug in the middle of his tirade. Too damn funny.
  23. I love the depth, but at times I fear it works against us in developing that "go to guy." Every team needs that guy they can get the ball to in a pinch and count on him to get you a bucket. Tree was getting there, but those guys have been few and far between in recent years.
