  1. I think St. B is as good as any team they've seen all year. For the second half, get more damn movement when the ball goes into the post and cut off the St. B offensive rebounds. They've committed 10 fouls to the Zips 5 and outrebounded the Zips 19-13. Need to be more aggressive.
  2. Make up call there. What a bunch of ****.
  3. Groce is better than me. That deserved him getting a technical defending his player.
  4. Have to stop giving up offensive rebounds.
  5. The Bonnies are solid and aggressive. Zips need to "punch back" a little.
  6. They're doubling every time on a pass to the post. Need to have some outside shooting on kick outs today.
  7. Anyone have a feeling as to when this will tip off?
  8. Preview from the Bonnies' site- https://gobonnies.com/news/2023/12/28/mens-basketball-bonnies-wrap-non-conference-play-vs-akron-at-legends-showcase.aspx
  9. Did you check with the Verizon store in Macedonia?
  10. I want players who are better than the ones we've had for the last 5 years. I don't care where they come from. If they're not derelicts, can academically qualify and can play, I don't care whether they are a JUCO, D3 transfer, D1 P5 transfer or a walk on. The Zips are in no position to be picky.
  11. On a positive note, they came up with the idea to get the students in the lower bowl and ummm, well.... No game night experience; music so loud you can't have a discussion during a timeout; they now charge for parking; the northeast entrance is closed; the courtside lounge is a colossal failure.... Thank goodness Groce is putting a good product on the court to keep the diehards coming.
  12. I fixed it for you!
  13. It gives us all a chance to rest up for our inevitable b!+ch!ng about MAC officiating!
  14. Nice work. I wish we had a "guest poster" like you for every game.
  15. Player asks for forgiveness and privacy - https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/2023/12/25/emu-football-player-who-started-bowl-game-brawl-i-ask-for-forgiveness/72027132007/
  16. Agreed, but I have little confidence in EMU doing anything of consequence.
  17. ...and his teammates should have allowed him to take the a$$ kicking he had coming. I hope the MAC takes some action.
  18. It could be higher in the rafters.
  19. I wonder if he has any eligibility left. We could sure use his guard play now! Maybe claim and extra COVID year?
  20. Here's the last thing I saw- https://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/2023/03/ex-akron-basketball-star-romeo-travis-pleads-guilty-to-federal-fraud-charges-owes-nearly-375000-in-restitution.html
  21. He was a real player (I am old).
  22. He was at the Duquesne/Bradley game last Monday. I couldn't find anything about him being sentenced. I suspect his sentencing may be being delayed while he "works with authorities." That's only a guess based upon what I have seen in similar situations.
  23. I was told at the basketball game last night that an Oregon QB is visiting this week. I also heard a Cal QB referenced.
  24. Here are some nice previews on the Bonnies- https://www.a10talk.com/2023/10/2023-24-atlantic-10-team-preview-saint-bonaventure/ https://gobonnies.com/news/2023/10/31/mens-basketball-bonnies-basketball-2023-24-season-outlook.aspx#:~:text=WITH HIGH HOPES-,St.,their fifth year of eligibility. https://www.tapinto.net/towns/greater-olean/sections/sports/articles/preview-st-bonaventure-men-s-basketball-2023-24
  25. The Zips wrap up their OOC schedule on the 30th with the A10’s St. Bonaventure at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The Bonnies (that’s worse than Runnin’ Bulldogs) were predicted to finish third in the A10 and currently stand at 7-3 going into Saturday’s game against Florida Atlantic. 6’3” graduate guard, Cinci transfer, Mika Adams-Woods leads the Bonnies at 15.3 ppg. 6’4” graduate guard Charles Pride leads rebounding at 6.3 rpg. 6’3” guard Darryl Banks (9.1 ppg) was named to the A10 preseason first team while 6’10” forward Chad Venning (13.6 ppg/4.3 rpg) was named to the third team. Their 3 losses have come to Cansius, Florida International and Auburn. Their best win appears to be over Oklahoma State. They appear to be an older, experienced team like the Zips. This game should be a good barometer of where our Zips stand going into league play.
