  1. It was just on. 30 secs maybe. Oh well, at least it made it on. The camera work wasn't very good either. They did have French sound track on.
  2. It said ESPN2.
  3. Now, that's pretty sexist. The little lady is at home doing nothing and would just love to tape it for you! lol
  4. I agree. It's not the coaches fault that CJ7 is not playing. It's his. He's got to take care of business. He had the starting spot and gave it up because he didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. These coaches have said from day one that they would take no excuses this year for undisciplined behavior. I'm just surprised that so many of the ZN fans are willing to.
  5. Sure, why not? Zips up 10-3. Arthur TD.
  6. I'm watching the game on gozips and my screen is about 3in by 3 in. Is there any way to make it bigger?
  7. I hear there will be nothing kept back this week now that we're in Mac play so be ready for some offense!!! I sure hope it's enough. Whichever QB we have in needs to kick butt. I hope to see a few plays with two backs, a fullback blocking and a tailback running. We need to get the running game going and while I think we have some great tailbacks, neither of them (Allen nor Williams) block for sh... I know you spread offense guys don't think our team even needs a fullback but I sure think we'd do better with 240 lbs. running up the middle for short yardage than a QB. (Do ya remember the play I'm talking about in the UConn game?) If WMU has to worry about the run a little more maybe we can throw it down field to a few other receivers and it'll take the defenders away from Jabari a little. In spite of all the negatives I've seen on this site in the last week I think we have a shot at being a good team this year.
  8. I think Jacq should be playing until CJ can demonstrate that he wants to work hard for this team and his team mates. What happens when CJ gets all the reps and then shows up ineligible next year because he's not taking care of business in the classroom? All forms of discipline are related. We are young this year but next year and even the year after we could really have a team with some experience. Let them learn their lessons well. You sound like a parent who doesn't discipline the child because s/he's just so darn cute. It only works in the present and dooms the future. You think CJ can learn to be more disciplined but that Jacq can't learn to not make silly mistakes on the field? I think it's a growing and maturing process for both young men. So, sit back, shut up, and let the coach do his job.
  9. It seems to me that whether or not CJ starts is all up to him. If he wants to lead this team he's got to follow team rules. It wasn't his play that kept him off the field. I will never understand how a player can make such bad decisions when he knows the team is counting on him.
  10. I just thought I saw something on the news that a star running back from Can't was stabbed. Anyone see that?
  11. Hey, did you check out the new sign-banner on the back of the field house? It's huge and so cool. It has "this is Roo town." It's worth a drive by!!!
  12. I took several friends who had never been to an Akron game with me Saturday and they loved the set up. They were just sad that we didn't get there earlier (a noon game is tough). But, they can't wait to go to the Temple game. Hopefully they won't change the time again and we can have a full day of tailgating. They even bought shirts to wear for the next game. Hmmm, not Akron grads but ready to have some fun and see some good football. PS. I couldn't believe how many ppl. at work today told me they were watching the game on TV and were royally pissed when it was interrupted!!!
  13. Hey zipsbandman, what's wrong with walk ons? I'm not sure who you're talking about (I know of no walk ons who played) but I'd sure sooner play with guys who have heart and do what it takes to be a productive part of the team than prima donas who think the university owes them a free education and that they have no responsibility to at least go to class. Walk ons have to do everything the scholarship players do plus pay for their own education. For the most part they're tackling dummies who will never see the field. If by some turn of fate they make the field they should certainly be applauded. Scholarship players get a great pay off. They get their education free. Walk ons play football for the love of the game.
  14. As the Can't players were exiting the field there were some Akron fans heckling them. The coach was furious. He started screaming at his team not to pay any attention to them. That, "they're Akron and they have no class." I don't know if it was the sun or his blood pressure but it was obvious that he did not expect to lose this game. I feel so bad for him.
  15. I guess Nate was on crutches today and KG has a sore ankle but is walking.
  16. I'm in. Just let me know where. And try to give me some good directions this time. lol
  17. Did you even watch or listen to the game? CJ played a lot in the second half. I even thought Jac got hurt since CJ played so much. The QBs were running for their lives and I saw no more mobility in either one of them. I think you, Timmy boy, are a relative or something of CJs. We all knew OSU would be tough. If it were easy it wouldn't have been an "upset" for us to win. As a fan, I know one thing. I'm not giving up on this team so quickly. I know they've got a lot of good plays on the back burner. Why they're not using them I'm not sure. Maybe they're saving them for MAC play?????? Our offense did not perform well against Ohio State, now that's a shocker!! That doesn't mean that Jac and DK etc all need to be replaced. Maybe I'm not as optimistic as the rest of you but I went out to watch the game just hoping we'd be competitive and we were. I see great things for this team but they're young. Give them time. The chemistry is there. We saw Mackey and the defense step up and I am confident that the offense will too. Let's see some of those "secret" plays!!!!!
  18. I heard that at one of the practices this week they were inside and had all kinds of crowd noise turned up real high so the players could get used to the amount of noise at OSU stadium. It could be heard from outside and ppl were stopping in just to see what the heck was going on. lol
  19. Only the guys on the travel team got tickets for parents. JD said that that's all they could get for the team. I think the ppl who set up the game got greedy. But then again, they're used to dealing with pros and the big bucks. At least we got to take the whole team. They were served pizza and snacks after the game at the science center and said that the accommodations, locker room, etc were great.
  20. The lot I was in was right next to the tailgate party where different groups were singing, the white tent was set up, and we walked north across the Amtrac tracks on the Browns board walk to get to the stadium. I followed the directions that were on one of the earlier posts. I swear there were no flags and maybe only 5 cars.
  21. Hey guys, I was at the 3rd street parking deck and it was empty. Where did everyone end up? I felt like I was invited to a party and was the only one who showed up. There was one group there having a little get together, when I asked them if they were Zips Nation they looked at me like I was nuts. Hmmm, good judge of character!!I know that 17,000 wasn't a good showing but I thought they really tried to make the game nice. I enjoyed it completely. While the concessions were overpriced the cost of the program at $3.00 was great!I enjoyed the band pre-game show. I guess you can never go wrong with patriotic songs. Half-time was good too but I couldn't hear it very well. I liked the dark blue pants.I read that there were a few problems with some of the Army cadets but over all I thought the chemistry between the fans, players, etc. was very respectful. How about those hits!!!! The one is on youtube. Kasparek got hit pretty hard too. I hope he's all right. It looked like he was. I liked that the "stadium" graphics were rooting for the Zips. I wasn't sure it would.Overall, great weather, great air show, and a great first win for our team!!!
  22. I think the show had to be edited with the departure of David Harvey thus making it so much shorter. As it was it was outdated since it mentioned Sean Hakes and didn't say that Chris J is now the QB. I think all the talk of a transfer by CJ is a little early since there's so much season to be played. We need a good backup in case of injury. Two good QBs are an asset. I think it took guts for JD to name Chris J. I only hope he continues to play the guys who deserve it the most and avoids putting in guys who, "I'm hurt now coach during two-a-days but next week during game week I'll fine." Playing guys like that hurt us last year when we had about a thousand penalties. You want to play---you have to practice!
  23. Today at 11 AM there's a Mac Preview on FSN, Massillon Cable channel 35. I'm not sure what channel that is on Time Warner.
  24. All this bickering over money is silly. It's a done deal. I think many of the players would have been heart broken if the game were changed. To get to play at Browns and Ohio State's stadiums in the same year is a dream come true for most of these guys. Akron is a growing school and is on the brink of great things. Just be patient.
  25. I hear we lost a DL today. Broken foot or something.
