  1. I liked that we used ut as an opportunity to continue to look for the deep threat. I don't know that we are there yet and hope they practice it all week long. I exoect us to have a lot if success with 10-15 yard oasses against WMU, which will force them to leave less cushion and for us to be able to break a coupke of deep balls. We have to be able to connect on explosive plays against tougher opponents. Also, not sure how well Booker can catch, but we should not throw to Junk. Williams has been pretty sure handed, but he was out for this game.
  2. Do not agree. He was in a hole when they put Tommy in and it would have been a bad spot for a turnover. I actually like the limited reps, in meaningful spots in the games, that he gas been getting, but you do more harm to leave him when there is a higher liklihood of failure.
  3. From Hustlebelt: "...Buffalo had almost no reason to run the ball. Between a wide-open passing game and a tough Bronco defensive line, passing was a much more attractive option...." It could be an interesting game. Tommy looks better every week and the receivers improve a littme each week.
  4. Yes and no. Yes, they played a clean game in terms of penalties and no turnovers. I say no, because I thought the 2 heavily penalized games were absolutely ridiculous and had more to do with the way the games were officiated than it did the Zips, truthfully, especially the Troy game. The game became about the refs and not the players. But your point is fair. We played a clean, disciplined game.
  5. I defenitely felt like we were using the game to work on some things and gets reps to back-ups. A few thoughts: 1. Sands is going to be a strong back. Probably the best if the three, he just needs more reps. 2. Our defense has shown improvement. Lako, Reinke, K Brown, Featherstone, and Davis are really stepping up. Dailey, Gilbert, Bell, and Boxen are playing well and offenses seem to avoid them. 3. Ball actually had a very highly rated defensive line. We didn't do a bad job stopping their rush. 4. Why no Nate Stewart or Dre Williams? Coney and Wolf are playing consistently well, Chapman was quiet today. Young and Gladney still have not proven themselves and Smith seems like he is still somewhat of a gamble. 5. The announcers and Bowden both mentioned the wind affecting kicks and the passing game.
  6. It took 7 OTs for WMU to finally put Buffalo away 71-68. Three things we can learn from this game: 1. WMU isn't quite as good as peo4pke thought. 2. Buffalo isn't quite as bad as peole thought. 3. There is tremendous parity in the MAC.
  7. Nice win, especially with a back-up QB.
  8. WMU 71 Buffalo 68 in OT That must have beem an exhausting game to eatch.
  9. Zips 2-0 in the MAC, 3 wins from being bowl eligible.
  10. You are, as usual.
  11. Nice, lol. What did Woody do to you? Steal your girl?
  12. No Nelson failed to execute and Wooson didn't pout, both he and Sands were frustratedthat Sandsfailed to catch a pass tgat wpuld have led to a huge gain. Can you spopare us yoyr petty personal animas for Woodson
  13. I was thinking today that this seems like a likely option. Even if it's only a decoy.
  14. Play calling has not been our problem this year. The 2 TE adjustment at half time against Troy was very effective. I also liked giving Neslon meangingful reps to mix things up.
  15. Winbush was called out, oddly enough, on a Heisman radios show I heard recently on satelite.
  16. Zach is a great young man witha bright future. I am glad to see hom make this call. It's a tough loss for the team but the right move for Zach. His injury was frightening.
  17. What, and ruin every possibile opportunity to. Complain about tthe team and coaches? I have said before and will reiterate there is tremendous parity in the MAC. There are no automatics and with the exception of last year's WMU, i believe any team has the capability to beat any other team on any given week...with possibly the exception of Can't State.
  18. Thanks for the summary. Featherstone played well on Saturday. I think with more experience he will be a stand out player.
  19. His injury seemed very much like a freak incident and not related to strength, conditioning, or ability. I am sorry to see it end like this for him. It wad an ugly injury to watch.
  20. What a bunch of morons. Zips win and you preduct doom and gloom for the HC. Seriously. Zips 1-0 in MAC 0lay. That's what counts.
  21. The play where Ball was injured was ugly. Guys gad wrapped around his legs and then he got blasted.
  22. Completely different blocking scheme using 2 TEs (Williams and Booker.)
  23. Thus us a healthy dose of realism. Cheer for what you have, not what you wish you had. We madea lot of mistakes and managed to almost pull off a W against a solid G5 team. We have the talent to win in the MAC, if we can find some receivers.
  24. Three weeks without practice is a reason, n9t an excyse, but whatever floats your boat...oh...they also lost their star RB...
  25. P5 team that has not practiced for 3 weeks....but hey who's counting....
