So Nelson comes in and lights it up and Milwee calls 2 idiotic QB draw plays. Then Woodson comes in and pouts. Love it.

That's why I said BOOKER!
I was thinking today that this seems like a likely option. Even if it's only a decoy.

We're we not creative with MTB last year? Have we not used 2 TE sets multiple times this year? I get that one of the fun things to do on this board is bash Milwee, but he towards the bottom on my list of concerns/gripes regarding the team.
Play calling has not been our problem this year. The 2 TE adjustment at half time against Troy was very effective. I also liked giving Neslon meangingful reps to mix things up.

Winbush was called out, oddly enough, on a Heisman radios show I heard recently on satelite.

Zach is a great young man witha bright future. I am glad to see hom make this call. It's a tough loss for the team but the right move for Zach. His injury was frightening.

Can we just enjoy the win for a week?
What, and ruin every possibile opportunity to. Complain about tthe team and coaches?
I have said before and will reiterate there is tremendous parity in the MAC. There are no automatics and with the exception of last year's WMU, i believe any team has the capability to beat any other team on any given week...with possibly the exception of Can't State.

• Austin Wolf had a cracked fibula at the beginning of the season.
• Defensive player of the week, Shawn Featherstone stepped in for Zach Guiser and led the team with 11 tackles
• Track star turned wideout, Kwadarrius Smith had his first one hundred yard game of his career.
• Coach points out the tough schedule thus far should make this team better.
Thanks for the summary. Featherstone played well on Saturday. I think with more experience he will be a stand out player.

That would be no.
His injury seemed very much like a freak incident and not related to strength, conditioning, or ability. I am sorry to see it end like this for him. It wad an ugly injury to watch.

What a bunch of morons. Zips win and you preduct doom and gloom for the HC. Seriously. Zips 1-0 in MAC 0lay. That's what counts.

The play where Ball was injured was ugly. Guys gad wrapped around his legs and then he got blasted.

It seemed to me that Warren B. had a better second half at Troy. Was this better blocking? - probably not. Was it sheer effort on Ball's part? - Maybe. Was it a switch in defensive scheme by Troy's coaches to stop the pass after the half as we were two scores behind - I wonder but can't remember? I turned off the announcers so maybe that guy that used to play said something. To me this is important at BG and for the rest of our season. If they try to focus their defense on Ball we need to come up with answers - good passing game, trickery, or run Woodson to back them off their keys and the line of scrimmage.
Completely different blocking scheme using 2 TEs (Williams and Booker.)

Huh? Where am I giving them any benefit of the doubt? I've said I think the team does have talent to compete in the MAC and a lot of the issues in the ISU and Troy game seem to me come from a result of poor coaching. I don't think either of those teams were superior in talent to us. I just posted if we lose to BG we should leave them there.
The goal is to always win, but you're taking away from your credibility if think winning every game is in anyway realistic. We root for one of the worst programs in D1 history and a G5 program at that. This isn't Ohio State or Alabama.
Thus us a healthy dose of realism. Cheer for what you have, not what you wish you had.
We madea lot of mistakes and managed to almost pull off a W against a solid G5 team. We have the talent to win in the MAC, if we can find some receivers.

Always an excuse with you. Toledo ALWAYS plays these schools like this, but you have a losers mentality so your response doesn't surprise me.
Three weeks without practice is a reason, n9t an excyse, but whatever floats your boat...oh...they also lost their star RB...

No. MAC teams get smoked by P5 schools.
P5 team that has not practiced for 3 weeks....but hey who's counting....

Are we really gonna have this conversation again??
the attendance for the game is paid attendance. Translation = tickets sold.
That means Summa may get 1000 tickets per game as part of the sponsorship. Infocision as well. Add up all sponsors and their "complimentary" tickets as part of their program and you can "adjust" the final number.
Pleasr stop with the "yeah but there weren't that many butts in seats" comments. They don't have to actually be there to be counted.
Thank you for your attention.
Please move along.
But it's another chance for people with nothing better to do to gripe and complain...

Huh? Bowden has a headset on that is connected to the coaches in the press box. I guarantee that those guys had a clear view of what transpired on the field during Kato's antics.
Anyone who chews out a player for the sake o f instant gratification before having idea of what happened is a fool. But based on the response around here, we have a lot of those these days.

I think the bad play calling, poor blocking, excessive penalties, bad attitudes, lack of talent and general poor play on the field is ruining it for everyone. But that is just me.
Have a great day!
Blah...blah...blah... grow up.

It took you 2 days to come up with that?
Umm. No...2 seconds, but I don't think any further detail is necessary. Go pout somewhere else I stead of ruining the experience for everyone, here.

Milwee is a joke. Until we demote him or get rid of him all together we will continue this pattern of horrible offensive football. Our offense hasn't been consistently good game in and game out since Bowden stopped calling the plays years ago.
Play calling was not that bad, yesterday, compared to other games. I was pleased that we have the run a chance to work but moved to the short pass sche.e to march it down the field. Our problem. Was our that they were going to force us to win without Ball. Our receivers and OL did not deliver for us.
I am not a Milder fan, but our offense became consistently good in 2015 and was fine until Tommy got hurt last year.
For those having a fit because Bowden didn't jump all over Nelson after the taunting call, he couldn't see the play (post game interview liink in Troy game thread) and therefore it is logical that he did not have a fit.

^^ I am having the same issues posting embedded tweets, FWIW.
For whatever reason I can't recall the Guiser injury..........hopefully he is okay.
Ditto
That was an interesting post game conference.
-
Any word on Zach Guiser? I believe he was knocked out in the last game. The team took his injury, really hard. I am not sure he should come back after that injury.
