  1. I had originally plan ed to vote no in the poll but Dr. Z posted some interesting stats that swayed my vote. Big deal. At the beginning if the season I thought we might be, optimistically, 2-2 at the end of out of conference play.

Go look at the comparison in football budgets between Iowa State and Akron, then put on your big boy pants. We live in a world where the money spent on foitball programs matter.

I have not said I don't have my concerns, I am saying that I am not ready to have, as some might say, a "hissy fit" after losing 2 games we were projected to lose, to P5 teams.

The ridiculous calls to replace Woody are childish. Let's replace with him with a kid who isn't ready and manages to throw too many interceptions?

Honestly, you can say your concerns are with this or that, but most of the negative co me t's are really about losing a game you wanted to win if you are honest with yourselves.

I don't think I have unrealistic expectations.  I want the team to perform as well as an upper level FCS team.  Is that too much to ask?  If we played a good I-AA we would get smoked.  That is unacceptable to me in year 6.  Bowden has complete ownership of this dumpster fire.

Whatever....it's sort if a joke to watch this board to meltdown

It isn't early for a meltdown. Bowden and staff continues to be a train wreck.

Yeah... Kato's dad has a big mouth, but his son  has more talent in his left nut than Woodson has in his entire washed up body. Woodson is done. Make the switch already.

I have seen some talent but his judgement is poor on the field. Its hard to train a fool. Alex Ramart is the next Zips starting QB. Our problem is not a qb problem.

I am honestly amazed at the unrealistic expectations of Zips fans.

  4. At the beginning of the season I thought we would be 2-2. We still might be. It's a little early for meltdowns.  Katoxs dad has been running his mouth on FB and Twitter for a year now. His son is not ready to lead anything and I would like to see him shut his trap. Now we know why Kato is emotionally immature.

  5. Whatever Nelson's deal is, he is not ready to lead the offense. Emotional maturity is part of the equation and he isn't there yet.

Woodson looks pretty good and there was some improvement from Smith and Young. Wolfe was in for one play, that I can recall. We badly need him. Nate Stewart made an amazing catch in Q 4. Let's hope he starts seeing more action.

Punting was better and as much as the D struggeled they are much better than last year, but still not close to 2015 quality. We are probably another year away from that, though we have some legit tale talent that still needs further development. It feels like D Line and Safety are still are weakest positions.

I give props to Campbell. They came ready to shut down Ball and they did. I also give props to the coaching staff for not conti using to force something that wasn't working and let Woodson lead us down the field a couple of times. I also like the 2 back look and wondered why we did not do that more.

We can win 6 games this year if the Zips don't self-destruct. I have been more embarrassed by the cheap hits and stupid penalilties by Zips players than ever before. That being said, the targeting call on Davis was a joke.

Reinke looked real tough.  Has a good motor. Very consistent.  I think our DE's looked really good (I know it was only UAPB).  In looking at the stats from the game, if correct, #11 Mike Kish (first year at DE.

The DE's were much better than what we saw last year. I give Jamal Marcus props for trying to hit it out, but we just never could break through at this position.

I just don't think Akron's defense is going to be good enough to get stops.Offensively we don't have the perimeter weapons that we did last season. Woodson will have to be nearly perfect squeezing precision passes in tight windows for the Zips to have any chance. I expect Akron to get down early and forced to abandon the run.

My concern isn't Woodson, it's the receivers. Get Ball into open field with halfback screens and the halfback pass that the Steelers used to throw to Willie Parker.

I would like to see us get Warren Ball in open field with some screens & bubbles (hopefully he can catch) & use some of the bigger receivers for blocking

I am so with you on this one. I am not sure he needs the blocking once he hits the open field. I feel like this will make our offense more potent and really help free up our younger receivers.

I voted for Williams because we need some downfield plays from our WR's. If Burkhart and his 40-inch vertical give us that threat, then by all means let's see more of him.

Our edge rush has also been "meh." If Sampson can put some heat on the opposing QB, get him some reps.

This is week #3. There really hasn't been any reason for Bowden to open up the playbook in week's #1 or #2. Incumbent players have had their fair chance to prove they should be starting.

I expect to see some new wrinkles in the Zips offense and defense this week. And, some new, younger faces getting more PT too.

I think he said Sampson saw about 15 reps last week.
