Colts' JoJo Natson could be an intriguing return man
-
They have to be healthy to be integrated. That seems to have been a problem for the last 2 years.

Don't forget, he also went to law school...lawyer speak. Last season he answered that way, because they were seeing different things from Tommy on different days. I wonder if that is still happening. I really hope not. It sounds like they were sitting some folks out to protect them from a pre-season injury. Let's hope that's all it was. If Tommy is healthy, he can get by with fewer reps.

JoJo just appeared in the 1st quarter for the Colts and returned a kick-off out of the end zone for 28 yards. It was a nice return and nice comments from the commentators...until they said he was Akron University. Video: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000829431/Colts-rookie-Jojo-Natson-shows-off-speed-on-28-yard-kickoff-return-from-own-end-zone# Edit: Jojo had a terrific game, getting looks at both punt and kick returns as well as 5 catches for 51 yards in receiving, including drawing a couple of nice penalties. Seems like they are giving him a serious look. I saw a couple of tweets from their practice last week and it sounds like he is doing well, overall.

It sounds like we were one year away from the depth that we needed last year. I like hearing about the talent starting to stack up on defense. When you consider that we really only stopped stacking the D with transfers 2 years ago, the transition happened pretty quickly. If you get a chance to go and interview, again, maybe ask if there will be any changes in the kicking game, like using different PKs for kicking off and FGs. O'Leary did a good job for us with FGs last year but we were among the worst in the nation for kick offs. Our punting game also was fairly dismal. Gasser did not punt long, but he was descent at putting the ball where it needed go.

Thank you - this is exactly what Zips fans want to know.

Well written stories could help generate local interest. I am not saying it would pack the Info, but every little bit can help. When you create an emotional connection with the reader, they become engaged and at least in a loose sense, become a stakeholder and a stakehder is more likely to show upon a Saturday. Has GT ever written anything close to that in the last 5 years?

I consider blocking for Warren Ball's 30+ touches a game a worthy cause.

GT finally has an article up: https://www.ohio.com/akron/sports/university-of-akron/university-of-akron-football-defense-stands-out-during-intrasquad-scrimmage

Awesome, thanks. The ABJ has certainly sunk to new lows. The best info for the las tear has come from ZN members, including you, @Dr Z.

Bickley's big problem as a freshman was that it was far too easy to rip the ball out of his hands/arms. I would imagine that by now, he has had ample opportunity in the weight room to help remedy that. I am hoping he was inspired by JoJo and we see a little of that same style out of Bickley. It would be a huge help. Week 2 of camp and virtually no news. All of the reporting has been very short interviews with the players, mostly about their personal challenges to be ready for the season. Bowden's interviews have been few, but general enough to not shed a lot of light on anything. It seems to be the quietest camp of the Bowden era. Perhaps he has shut the media out to keep the QB situation a mystery. I realize the cat is out of the bag early after games begin, but practice time is much more limited after the season starts, too. We usually see more videos from the FB program. So far, just 1.

https://www.iheart.com/podcast/139-Nick-Camino-27306230/episode/terry-bowden-interview-with-camino-28375674/?cmp=web_share My takeaways: 1. He intends to run the ball, as much as possible. 2. It sounds like he expects Tommy to be the guy. 3. He knows he needs to win this year.

I don't agree. JT day is before homecoming. I hope they go super old school. Re: full Roo. I love it.

According to HUDL, and I don't know how accurate that is, he runs a 4.44/40. -
Don't over-exert yourself, George.

We are all cheering for him, I think. He has demonstrated a great attitude and a team first mentality. I hope this turns into redemption for him

Not a surprise for Zips fans: "The play of the day was undrafted free agent quarterback Phillip Walker hooking up with fellow undrafted wide receiver JoJo Natson for a deep touchdown." http://m.colts.com/news/article-1/Practice-Two-Training-Camp-Notebook-Scott-Tolzien-Wide-Receivers-Better-On-Day-Two--/6475dfd8-7d9d-48cc-8fd9-2058b4d827b6

JB1....I'm a believer. I won't be surprised if Williams plays this year. Also, even though it's pre-season, our receiving corps has come a long way since 2014.

One of the 2 large traditional newspapers in Pittsburgh just switched to all-digital delivery model. I don't remember seeing a paywall, either.
