Not going to happen, nor should it. Edwards has explosiveness we have not had out of the backfield. Great block and run.

Forcing the FG slowed the bleed. Come on Zips, lets put up 7.

We are really missing a bye week about now.

Woody is warming up with the starting center (Quigley.) Great news. They didn't disclose Gautney's injury, but said he was injured. Marcus is playing in a limited capacity, pass situations. He was advised but some not to play and jeopardize NFL prospects, and will be playing through the pain. There's a team guy. Also out on D: Devon'Tae Moore, Deandre Scott, Brock Boxen, Zach Guiser. They didn't mention *Andrew Hauser, but I assume he is still out. Also, no mention of Ball - I am assuming he is still out. #GoZips! Welcome back, Woody. Update: Warren Ball is listed as out, but is dressed today. MTB is also out. * Hauser is back Out for season: Brock Boxen, Anthony Young

Game 7—Western Michigan Broncos (2016)

The video does show it being lit on fire and then getting smashed. -
You can vote for JB as Rookie of the Week over on NFL.com

Why would undermine the team's desire to keep this info under wraps?

Game 7—Western Michigan Broncos (2016)

I read an article that indicated a lot of players and people around Michigan laughed at the whole cliché when Fleck first arrived and players admitted that they found the use of the cliché confusing. (Found the article.) IT turns out that we did burn it, not break it and it looks like Gildersleeve was the initiator. http://wwmt.com/sports/content/akrons-symbolic-oar-burning-smashing-blows-up-in-their-face-in-41-0-loss Either way, it was probably a stupid thing to do, yet not intentionally disrespectful to Fleck's loss. I still can't stand Fleck - reminds me of a used car salesman. -
I sort of feel like this game will be a signal of whether the season is slipping away from us or if our level of talent has come far enough along to be able to win, despite adversity.

I was tempted to think the same thing but remembered, he is trying to get a NY Day bowl bid. Stats play a huge role in rankings and selections these days, so coaches have to compete for all 4 quarters, now. I don't disagree. -
For anyone interested, he is in the Pro Bowl ballot. http://www.nfl.com/probowl/ballot

Agree. Come on. They are the Broncos, yet everything about them has to do with boats? The whole thing was crying to be mocked and it is what Fleck should expect when he uses his personal life to motivate his team. I highly doubt there was any intention to mock the loss of his son. This man is one boat load of walking cliches. The kids took a risk of mocking a high quality opponent's maxim and I doubt they will do it, again, but hard to come down on a team for being motivated. -
It doesn't have to be a violation. If the "adoption" is limited to picking a player and showing up and cheering for them, making signs, etc there is no violation. If you have ever sat near the parents section, it's fun to watch a small group go crazy when their kid makes a special play. You can always tell when Brock Boxen makes a great play - the Boxen clan goes wild. I remember watching Chuck Amato escort a kid on senior day once (might have happened more than once) and I wondered if that kid ever had anyone cheering for him and IIRC, he was a starter or a regular.

Not really much of interest in this one.

Game 7—Western Michigan Broncos (2016)

I think KP was actually done after the 2014 season. He threw too many interceptions and TB, rightfully, let the QBs know that the guy who took care of the ball would win the job. Who knows how these guys prepare in the off season, outside of scheduled practices, but Woodson seemed to be the guy, in the end, ho figured out how to protect the ball, Let's face it - all of their jobs became easier when they moved Lane to WR and gave them an athletic target. Which players did you consider better? Caleb Chapman was a great kid, but no better than Hoyer. He is a RB at Gardiner Webb, now. He was a small school QB that just didn't have what it took to be a D1 QB. Chandler Kincaide had a knee injury his senior year of HS and was never the same. Devyn Wood was a preferred walk-on and I don't think he made the 105 for camp. Preferred walk-ons don't normally get the same opportunities as scholarships. There are moments when you can see why the coaches wanted to go with Chapman. He is athletic and when he plays within himself, he has a nice touch. Tommy made some poor decisions when he started when KP was injured but he grew out of them. I think everyone sort of hope the same would be true of Chapman. One thing about Chapman is that has never really had that full year to adjust to the speed of D1 football. He looks better in that area this year, but still has a way to go - although if Woodson comes back, he may never have the chance to develop that aspect of his game. Kids adjust to D1 football at different rates. Last year was his first real year and he didn't really see the field after Louisiana Lafayette. He showed improvement at KSU and Miami, but started to struggle, again in the second half against Miami. TC5 has been a good teammate and I hope he becomes either a RB or WR next year. I'd like to see him find a spot where he can succeed. Tommy has done a fairly good job protecting the ball and has really grown into a solid decision-maker. He is a tank, and tough to take down and can move well enough with his feet to keep the defense on their heels. His completions have certainly increased with more talented receivers. He is a great leader on the field and leave it all out there, every game. Kato isn't ready yet and there is no one who has as complete of a game as him for us, right now. I am looking forward to watching Kato Nelson grow into the next Zips QB. His video looks great and I have heard really good things from some of the players about his abilities. -
+1 for the weather.

Game 7—Western Michigan Broncos (2016)

I have not seen any reference to this by anyone from Akron. Has it been verified? I would not rule it out as a Fleck ploy. -
WMU went pretty much how I expected it to go, especially minus Tommy. If we have Tommy back, I think we can still win every game, but Toledo.

Yes, WMU is top notch MAC, but they are better than the average top notch MAC team. The injuries are starting to become demoralizing. -
I am not sure the outcome of the game is a huge motivator and Fleck will probably have another job long before they sign, but I know what you mean. Here are a few tweets:

There appeared to be a boatload of Recruits at the WMU game on Saturday. Times have changed for us.
