If the kid isn't here for spring ball, I would assume that Kato is the true back-up. Kato has been learning the offense. We need a third option and I would guess this kid could be it. However, if for some reason Tommy's shoulder problems continue, we need to have someone to compete with Kato. I wouldn't be surprised if we offered another QB who could play next season - another JUCO or 5th year senior.

I tend to agree with you and the chemistry was pretty good for a guy who had never taken a rep. I think it also introduces the element of the unknown vs. Ohio. If for some reason Tommy is miraculously better, you go with him, otherwise, I would give Goodman a shot, at least in practice - don't try too many things. Also try some trick plays out of the backfield to help us out. The defense that played in the second half at least, finally, showed some promise. I would say the door is open for Kato Nelso to compete in camp.

Nice rush on the punt forced a bad punt by the best punter in college football. Nice work Zips.

Say what you will, but just when I thought the team had lost its heart, here they are battling back with a guy who has not played QB during his entire college career, with the exception of a couple of trick plays. I was ready to go to bed after a late night last night, but hat's off to these kids for learning what means to give it your all when the chips are down.

I forgot how cheap the BGSU players were.

Game is on ESPN3.

I am glad to hear it.

I don't think our defensive situation is a complicated one. We are not a great program. We were on our way to becoming a good program but we're derailed by a rebuilding year on defense that amuck with repetitive injuries in key positions. Top that with Tommy's injury and it turned into an ugly mid-season. Not having an earlier bye coupled with 2 consecutive short weeks has made it an even tougher situation. I am not sure we have the talent at LB or DL to move the D forward a ton, but hopefully, these kids eat, drink, and breathe tackling drills during the off season. Younger, physically weaker and smaller kids can't get away with arm tackling or just diving to take a hit at a player. Offensively, I think we have all been pleasantly surprised at the talent of the OL. I would expect that their run blocking will continue to improve. We don't have depth because we are still on our way to becoming a good program. The depth is starting to come but it isn't there, yet. The offense has a lot more depth than the defense, right now. We have not lost games due to offensive play calling. We have list games, mostly, because our defense has played horribly. We lost at Buffalo because Tommy was obviously playing injured and our defense played horribly. We really need to score a Daryl Monroe, Rodney Coe, or the like at both the DL and LB position as transfers next year to help stop the bleeding while younger talent develops and we continue to recruit better talent. Our special teams kick coverage will improve as our defense learns to tackle. Our specialists have played well this year. It's a miserable thing to watch your team fall apart due to injuries but there was no magic bullet to fix what happened this year.

Deserving of the attention. He has been a work horse and exhilarating.

If true, that is despicable.

All 3 TEs have spent time, recently, injured, including MT . -

I have to say, some of the stupidest comments posted all year, have been posted tonight, by people who only show up to be negative. Honestly, the pettiness displayed by the Bowden/Amato haters is a complete joke.
-
Spare me. 5 years of Bowden and we are on the verge of being bowl eligible for the second consecutive year. Grow up and get some perspective.
-
Wow. JoJo.
-
Yeah, something is definitely not right.
-
He is playing but his passes are way off and look weak.
-
This is ugly.
-
He doesn't look right, that's for sure.

Seeing a lot of things we don't normally see go wrong. Looks like the ball is very tough to handle right now. Errant passes, a bad snap on the punt, and dropped passes.

MTB, DeAndre Scott, and Gathney are all back. Weather sounds miserable. Swirling wind with rain.

I would love to see him get a shot.
