  1. And you don't see that there's a reason for that ?
  2. I think that's the dilemma right now. He has the size we desperately need, but he can't do what we need him to do. He's probably worth the gamble with a scholarship, but he's a project, at best. Maybe somewhere down the line his passing skills and his shooting touch might make him more value to us when we have a more robust lineup around him. But for those hoping he was going to fill some kind of Center role for us, you're hoping for something that might never emerge unless he miraculously becomes able to move on the court with athletes at this level. I think the coaches are going to try to get as much as we can from some very undersized front court players who are much more athletic. And that looks like our best option.
  3. Don't tease me like that, man.
  4. Yes, quite a different team when their #1 QB is on the field. Now were full-circle back to the debate over the dramatic impact of a good starting QB in the MAC.
  5. So, if Team A wins a game against Team B, and Team B wins a game against Team C, then Team A (Kent) must be infinitely better than Team C (Akron). Right? We know this theory doesn't answer anything. If true, then my calculation says that Wisconsin is 55 points better than Ohio State, after Wisconsin blew out Iowa, and Iowa blew out Ohio State. WAY too many other variables.
  6. That means that they'll probably find a way to put us at #9
  7. Umm. No free Pizza for the rest of us? That may give me some incentive to run over there around lunchtime.
  8. I was thinking the same thing.
  9. The head coach has publicly said, on several occasions, that he was suspended for breaking a football team rule. This would be the first time I've heard anyone suggest that it was a violation of our athletic department's code of conduct, including anyone within the athletic department.
  10. Those kinds of things are a complete anomaly. Not the norm.
  11. Oh, come on. There's many good football teams that wouldn't win without their starting QB. I can't agree with you if you're trying to say that it doesn't matter.
  12. That's crazy. They only got 200 and 500 the last two games, and they are ranked and playing for a MAC title. I bet it's one of those cases where the Michigan people show up to see the Spartans and Wolverines.
  13. I know what you're saying. And I've posted some negative things about Woodson before on this forum. But for me, the coaching staff obviously showed they aren't willing to excuse indiscretions by suspending a starting QB for a game with 3 games left, with our team sitting in 1st place. So, I'm satisfied that they didn't put a Win over the integrity of the program. If it's something severe, I don't expect him to play again this week. If not, I hope they made their statement to the team about player behavior, and we can lets him go help us win a title.
  14. I'm with you on that. I'm sure they want Woodson out there, and I believe he is the best we have. But, we (the fans) probably aren't going to know the details of what happened anytime soon.
  15. They show 1,200 for that Akron game. But still, that does seem to be an indication that they will draw crowds much larger than normal for the Zips. I wonder how many of those 1,200 people were Zips fans? Do you recall how many others were there? This actually sounds like an opportunity to get our fans up there and outnumber them. But, not many will make that trip in those weather conditions.
  16. When I was listening to the coach's show, I believe he said they would make a decision later in the week? If I were the Akron staff, I wouldn't tell anyone until gametime, whether a decision has been made or not. I think they are such different athletes that I would make it as difficult on the opposition as possible by making them prepare for both QB's.
  17. That's code for...... "We're going to make it look like thousands of people will be there, because we're begging you to come and support us". They only drew 200 for their final home game this year, and only 500 yesterday.
  18. I absolutely think we should send them some AKRON fan photos, and see if they post them. Asking for only Ohio State photos is really stupid.
  19. This should always be additional incentive for us to take advantage of a year where we can capture the attention of our newspaper on Exchange St., while the Suckeyes are out of the picture. I just got this in my e-mail (see image) from the Beacon Journal. The message with this image states that they are compiling a Photo Gallery on their website of Ohio State fan pictures, and giving away free prizes for the best pictures. So, how about an Akron fan photo gallery? Or, just including fan pictures from Akron and/or Kent, which happens to be the areas that cover their readership? Or, just ask for local college football fan pictures? Maybe we'd send a message if we all started sending them AKRON fan pictures to put in this gallery, but I'd bet they wouldn't get posted.
  20. Here's what happened a few years ago, the last time we faced a supposedly "far superior" and "unbeatable" MAC opponent at home in November. http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=333332006
  21. Noooooooo.
  22. I'm clicking on the link for Dials' game. And my first thought is "What in the world was the U of A thinking when they built the JAR for a friggin D-I basketball program"? Click on Nick's game. You'll see what I mean.
  23. Maybe we all ought to just focus on winning on Sunday...and keep on winning after that It would be nice to get several more home games, after not having the MAC tournament here.
  24. Zip_ME87.......I think this guy's memory of our many screw-jobs from the selection committee is a lot more like mine.
