I mentioned this on another thread back in early December: 2017 Wide Receiving Corps zzx replied to Blue & Gold's topic in Akron Zips Football Of course there will be a wide open competition for all of the WR positions next year. However, with Jerome Lane to the NFL and Kentucky transfer TE Darryl Long (6-4 246) eligible to play for the Zips in 2017, I think Mykel-Traylor Bennett may emerge in Lane's vacated starting X-WR spot. Austin Wolf should hold on to the starting Z-WR spot. December 5, 2016 ---Additionally, I think Travon Chapman may emerge at a starting role -- possibly at slot Y-WR --others to keep an eye on include Nate Stewart and Kwadarrius Smith
