I remember Freeman stating that he thought Aziz was going to be a great player. Looks like he might be right.

Nate Johnson is the only new member of the team that has impressed me thus far. Hankerson was 0 for 10 before he hit his last 2 three pointers. I do not see him do anything but stand on the perimeter and shoot threes. Sammy Hunter is 1 for 18 from the 3 line. Once again would like to see him do something else other than whiff on the 3 ball. He did have a great dunk but not much else. Tribble had so many open 3 pointers and kept passing up on the shot and driving to the basket. Considering that everyone else could not hit the side of the barn from 3 point land, I would like to see him attempt an open 3 ball. He could not do much worse than Hankerson and Hunter. Clark had an okay game but not nearly as good as he was playing at the end of the year. I think this team was stuck on 42 for at least 7 minutes. We have to play better and shoot better from the outside or this is going to be a long season.

After being critical of the commentators, I have to say that they were right. Akron looked tired in the second half. We played high tempo defense the first half and the first part of the 2nd half but we looked tired after that and we got killed after the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. We could not shoot the 3 ball and in our defense floundered after we got tired. It is way to early to determine how the new additions to the team will fit in. I was really hoping to see improvement from Clark and Tribble and thus far Tribble has struggled with his shooting. I would love to see more arc on his shot but I think that ship has sailed. Clark also cannot find his shot. And when you consider that Hankerson and Hunter also have not been shooting the ball well we are going to lose by 20. Lots of time for these players to find their shots.

Hankerson has been very unimpressive tonight. He throws the ball away and then watches a guy make a layup. I would give him a ticket to the bench.

We are shooting 25% from 3. In the first half we were missing open threes. Now we are missing contested threes. Freeman has had almost no space to work down low. Not our best effort tonight.

Okay, I must admit I turned the sound on and I am enjoying the commentary. It was great hearing Groce give commentary during the game and it was not coach speak. I feel like I am watching the game with 3 compulsive gamblers. When Akron missed the open layup that would have won them the over bet their reaction was hilarious. I am really disappointed with Clark. After making his first 3 I think he missed his next 4. He also gave up an offensive rebound. Of course all of the team is struggling from the field.

Our defense is much better than our offense. Great to see Clark make a 3. Also, team looks good even with Freeman on the bench. It seems like whenever Freeman gets the ball he has somebody in the paint to double. he has turned ball over. Need to get better spacing. He needs to get more open looks.

Thanks, that makes sense. I do not bet on sports but I am glad that they are giving Akron the exposure. Wish I made the trip to Philly so I could watch the game without seeing these guys on TV on picture on picture.

Thanks!! I am turning the sound off when I watch the Zips. They are more concerned with their bets than announcing the game. I also hate the screen on screen where you see the commentators and not the game. I now understand the format. Bloggers who just talk and talk and talk and talk. I am too old for this crap.

I added the channel. Picture is good. Watched Toledo game for 5 minutes. I have one question. Do the 3 commentators ever shut up?

I opened Roku but could not find barstools sports. I put barstools in search and no results. any help would be appreciated. I know I can watch it online and the picture does look sharp online but would rather try watching it on tv.

In Freeman's frosh year when he walked on, he was the only player on the roster not to have his picture up. (LOL)

I lean the other way and Groce told him he may not fit into their long term plans. When we started winning it was with a smaller lineup and more quickness on defense. I think Groce believes that quickness beats having a rim protector that does not have quick feet. That is why Freeman is so good because of his quickness to the ball.

For those that are going, it is a straight shot on Pa turnpike, exit Valley Forge, to Blue Route, 476, to route 95 south, and get off at stadium exits which are well marked. For a taste of Philly, get there early and go to Pats Steaks about 10 minutes from the arena. (I grew up in Philly and used to sell beer at the Vet)

Do you think Aziz was a coaching decision or a player's decision? On the one hand he had very limited offensive skills and was slow on defense. However, I thought we could have used him last night on defense as their center was just eating up our frosh at the end of the half.

I checked the Butler box score and no Ali. I wonder if he is hurt or there is some other reason he did not play.

Best game of the season thus far!!! (LOL) For those people that are mad at Tribble for missing the layup, you have to remember he was trying to beat the clock and was trucking down the court at full speed. Because of the speed he put the ball off the backboard too hard. He made up for it making the foul shot that won the game. By far the best non-conference game we have had in years. I hope they come back.

I received my season tickets but my parking passes are digital. I read the instructions and it indicates that I was supposed to have received an e mail to access my account. I did not get e mail. I just tried to access my account online and it did not recognize by e mail although they sent my payment confirmation to that e mail. And of course when I call the ticket office, you guessed it, nobody answers even though we are 45 minutes from tipoff. Would it kill them to print off the parking passes like every other year?

Does anyone have a good guess at the starting lineup? Does anyone remember when we used to get programs with rosters and a little information about the visiting team. Under Groce it seems we always have a bunch of new players and it takes me a few games to learn the players. Nice to have a roster until we learn the players. Tribble and Freeman could be Groce's first recruits to spend 4 years in the Akron program. (okay, he recruited Freeman from the Akron cafeteria)

As I look at the roster, I see a lot of new faces. It seems like that every year, especially with the transfer rule. I know we have talked about some of these players in the past but if somebody would be nice enough to help me out and tell me where the following players from last year ended up. Also, if somebody wants to comment about these players as the season progresses we now have one thread on this subject. Thanks in advance.
