Glad to see Trimble finally hitting a 3. Ali hitting a few shots. Surprised that we have not tried to get the ball to Freeman or Reese for some inside scoring. If we could shoot the ball well we would be blowing them out. Not sure they can keep up this defense the whole game.

I think there would be more excitement if we did not drop our last 3 games and 3 of our starting 5 are in a shooting funk and have been in a defensive funk the entire season. This team can be really good when Trimble, Ali, and LCJ are making their 3 ball. But we struggle when the 3 pointers are not going into the basket. If we win on Thursday and get out of our offensive woes I think this board will pick up.

First game tips at 11:00a and it will be like a typical women's quarterfinal day. Once that game tips, there are 3 straight right after it, all of them starting 30 minutes after the game before ends, as opposed to normally having 2 games in the afternoon, kicking everyone out of the arena, and starting again with 2 more in the evening. So to estimate it will approximately be (assuming no wicked fast games or overtime games):
Game 1 (#1 Toledo vs. #8 Balls Tate) -- 11:00a-1:00p
Game 2 (#4 vs. #5 Ohio) -- 1:30p-3:30p
Game 3 (#2 vs. #7 Miami) -- 4:00p-6:00p
Game 4 (#3 Akron vs. #6 BGSU) -- 6:30p-8:30p

Maybe next year we will have a special night and get to honor the seniors from this year.

The Zips have shot 25% from the 3 line the last 3 games. For us to have a chance Ali, Trimble LCJ or somebody else on the team is going to have to find their range and start making the 3 ball. That has always been the strength of the Groce team and we struggle when we can not hit from long range. All season Trimble has made very long 3 balls. Coach should work some plays to get him open looks from just behind the 3 line to get his confidence.

Dawson played good defense yesterday. He was in the lineup when they held Buffalo scoreless.

The starters except for Freeman have not played well. LCJ hit about 30% of his shots today and made his last 2 three balls. Ali and Trimble have been terrible the last couple of games. It seems like these guys play tough defense the first 8 minutes of the game and their offense sucks. Because this team is built on transfers, these guys have not played a whole season and might be getting tired and not used to the grind. The bench players played much better than Ali and Trimble and I think it is time to let the bench play more. Let Trimble and Ali come off the bench and see if that helps.

LCJ and Clark were the guards, Dailey and Dawson and Freeman and Wynn and Tribble. The team was most effective when Trimble and Ali were on the bench.

It was not a dunk but he laid it in over his head. Freeman was by far the best Zip on the floor today, especially when he picked up 2 fouls early.

I really like the lineup that the Zips played the last 10 minutes. I hope Groce sees who is playing hard. We have some players that can are not afraid to slash to the basket and play hard nose defense.

Dailey is trying real hard just does not have the talent to finish and then throws it away. I think Groce has to play the guys who brought this team back. Put Trimble and Ali on the bench and play the guys that are producing. Maybe if Ali and Trimble come off the bench they will start shooting better.

Trimble cannot box out and hold his ground so he grabs the Buffalo players arm. Fouls out without scoring a point. I would have kept him and Ali on the bench.

There is my starting lineup. The guys who are out there now. Moving the ball and taking it to the hoop!! Best ball movement all game.

It is funny to hear the announcers indicate they did not expect a Buffalo blowout. Everyone who follows the Zips on this board was expecting exactly what we have seen. This team can play good defense for about 8 minutes and that is about it. We just don't have any shooters right now that can hit the 3 ball. That is supposed to be the strength of this team. When we have to rely on our inside scoring it is tough. Freeman is playing a great game. I thought Reese played well. LCJ is playing hard but cannot find his shot. We only have 4-5 assist because there is little ball movement. I would consider benching Ali and maybe Trimble because they are just not producing.

I think that is Marshall out there getting some time. He played well last time and he looks like he wants to play more than some of the starters. Dailey has played some nice defense. Nothing from Trimble and Ali again. Tough to have offense when your starters are not contributing.

Can anyone remember the last time Ali did anything positive on offense? He just drove the lane, stop and threw the ball away. He looks absolutely lost the last 3 games. Ever since he had a career high, his game has gone south along with the Zips.

Why is LCJ leaving his man alone in the corner for a 3. I have seen that over and over again this season. Stay on your man!!

We cannot buy a 3 point shot. LCJ hit his first and that has been it.

I have the same feeling. However, there is hope. In the 2016-2017 season I felt the same way because the Zips had lost 2 in a row and we never win at Buffalo. We won the game 89-83. That is why we play the games. Go Zips.

No time, been working on the team's defense and shooting. Also trying to get them to drive to the basket instead of settling for the long three ball. (LOL)

Buffalo is 11-7/9-5 heading into the Hocking Valley today. 6'5" junior forward Jeenathan Williams leads them at 17.9 ppg while adding in 7.4 rpg. SVSM grad Jayvon Graves is the team's second leading scorer at 14.7 ppg. 6'7" junior junior center Josh Mballa leads the league in rebounding at 10.1 rpg while scoring 14.6 ppg. Mballa and Williams give them 2 of the MAC's top 7 rebounders.
Hopefully, the Zips will be able to recover from their recent slump. Here's hoping Mr. Pinky loses the Zips voodoo doll he found during the halftime of the Zips/PCCC game and the Zips can get back on track. They'd better plan the hit the boards in this one.

LCJ has 19 of Akron's 34 points. Would like to see somebody else step up. I believe he is 4 of 13 so he is not shooting that well. Just nobody is stepping up. Good to Ali make a few shots. We need to have more scoring from some of the other players. Dawson took a three and did not hit rim. I think this is going to be a very close game unless the Zips end their shooting slump. Would love to see Trimble drain a couple of three balls in a row. Go Zips.
