  1. I know a loss is a loss, but losing by 5 on their home court isnt that bad. The Zips showed some heart by not giving up when down 10 with 3 to play. They fought back. Winning by 20 is fun, but it doesnt prepare you for these close ones. As long as they learn from it, they'll be ok.As for the foul differential, I saw something by the UC coach following their game in Cleveland, and Ohio had a big advantage in FTA there too. Plus, I read on another post that they shot 100+ more free throws than their opponents? Maybe the OU style of play (wild, fast paced driving) just leads to more calls?
  2. First off, I would place williams and troutman ahead of Bubba as far as "stars" for OU. I think Bubba's transfer to OU indicates Akron has more depth at that position. OU was very front court heavy and needed someone to replace Green this year. He was the right fit at the right time. Overall, I say these two teams are close to dead even.
  3. He's right. Wood as out-played inside. When wood made his lone bacsket, I remember hearing frenchie comment on how few inside looks the zips were able to get tonight.I would take williams and Tillman over Wood right now. If would had never gotton hurt, who knows...
  4. I would give the Zips a C+. I ggenerally agree with your assesment of the zips season so far. However, I do think the UIC loss is a little closer to terrible than to just bad. In my estimation, the games they won they should have won, and the good showing against Nevada is negated by UA-LR and UIC. Maybe I'm just difficult to please haha
  5. Bubba took over the game early for Ohio hitting some big threes to soften up the inside D. He looked better in thta game than I ever remember him at Akron. So who knows..
  6. Akron up to 141 today. Biggest gainer: Ohio. The Bobcats jump 45 spots to 67 after beating Cincinnati tonight. Biggest loser: Toledo. They fall to 173 after their loss to Oakland.
  7. The O-Zone was small, but as you said, that will happen anytime you play a "home game" 4 hours from Campus the day before New Year's Eve. However, I thought Ohio fans as a whole traveled very well for the game. Seemed to out number UC fans three to one atleast. Always good to see the MAC beat the Big East...
  8. This games also the day before Ohio plays their bowl game in Mobile. Should mean a below average turnout in Athens...
