  1. Hadnt seen most of this posted, sorry if it has... This is based on some other teams released schedules and the already discussed Diamond Head Classic. Here's what I saw so far: Sat Dec. 14 Bethune Cookman Mon Dec. 16 Oral Roberts Wed Dec. 18 Detroit Sun Dec. 22 Oregon State (Diamond Head Classic) Mon Dec. 23 Iowa State / George Mason (Diamond Head Classic) Wed Dec. 25 South Carolina / St. Mary's / Boise State / Hawaii (Diamond Head Classic)
  2. The more I think about it, the better it is for Akron to have KD's name mentioned. The "I'm being considered for an NBA job" card would be helpful in recruiting.
  3. That would certainly put an end to the will Zeke get drafted debate.
  4. Re-cap of the game... http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...0101/304130081/
  5. Only on ESPN. I was too busy (or lazy... or both) to look them up anywhere else.
  6. I don't follow many high school all-star games. I agree this looks more local, but here are the players who are ranked by ESPN. They're listed by state rank, with their overall position rank in parentheses. Still a chance to see how some future recruits end up doing. Ohio #4 Mark Donnal - Michigan (#24 PF) #5 Maverick Morgan - Illinois (#15 C) #6 Kevin Johnson - Cincinnati (#33 PG) #10 Jack Gibbs - Davidson (#51 PG) #13 Vito Brown - Wisconsin (#86 PF) #16 Josh Davenport - Winthrop (#98 SG) #21 Jalen Rhea - American (#136 SG) Kentucky #2 Darryl Hicks - Boston College (#54 SG) #3 Dominique Hawkins - Kentucky (#52 PG) #4 Antonio Campbell - Ohio (#76 PF) #6 Omar Prewitt - William & Mary (#139 SF)
  7. I had no clue either until I looked it up haha. I definetly think Zeke would provide more value than Hollins.
  8. Aaron Jackson (Gahanna) and Isaiah Johnson (Walnut Hills) will be playing in the Kentucky / Ohio All-Star game Saturday at 7:30 in Crestview Hills, KY. The Ohio team looks pretty stacked. Other players include recruits to Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Cincinnati. The Kentucky team has one player going to UK and another to BC. Only two other MAC recuits in the game are going to OU. http://www.oh-kyallstargame.com/4.html
  9. The Heat don't appear to have a pick in this draft, so they'd have to buy one from another team. (For some reason I thought every team had to have a pick after what Stepien did to the Cavs, but apparently thatjust says you cant trade firsts in back to back years.) First round pick to Cleveland for LBJ, second rounder to the Grizzlies for Ricky Sanchez. http://www.prosportstransactions.com/baske...Future/Heat.htm Off topic, but while looking up the Stepien draft rules, I read during the course of the 1981-82 season alone, he fired three and hired four different head coaches. Wow.
  10. I've seen that for NCAA projections, but never mock drafts. Interesting. I would imagine the NBA draft would be the hardest to project with all the the European players taken but unavailable for a few years.
  11. Chad Ford just posted his first mock draft. No Zeke, but it's only a first round mock. (ESPN Insider LINK) They also have a link to John Hollinger's PER ratings for last college basketball season. Zeke is number 17 in the country. Others of note: Kelly Olynyck #1, Mike Muscala #2, Javon McRae #7, Cody Zeller #8, Trey Burke #13, and Jeff Withey #34. (LINK)
  12. That surprises me. Ford didn't list him on his top 35 prospects (Link) that were updated yesterday. Also, ESPN's draft page has him listed at #18 among Centers with a Second Round / Undrafted grade (Link). Although it doesn't attribute the rankings to Ford, he is the NBA draft guy for ESPN. Interesting.
  13. +1. Great points. A Zips win lets them both dance twice. Imagine if they hand been in the same recruiting class.
  14. They may have been close, but they're still wins. Whens the last time #1 and #2 finished 4 games better than #3 and 5 games better than #4? What if I parlayed two of these together, what kind of odds would I get? (on a side note, I just bought a bridge in Brooklyn at a very reasonable rate)
  15. Zeke Marshall. OK, so maybe it's not an upset. http://www.mac-sports.com/News/tabid/969/A...paul-brown.aspx Congrats Zeke.
  16. Champions (and seeds) since 2005: 2012 - Ohio #3 2011 - Akron #6 2010 - Ohio #9 2009 - Akron #5 2008 - K.e.n.t. #1 2007 - Miami #4 2006 - K.e.n.t. #1 2005 - Ohio #4 Average seed of the champion the last 8 years 4.125. Granted, I would be amazed if any team without a top 4 seed & the byes wins this tournament as long as the bracket remains in it's current form. Side note, the last time a non-East Division team won was 9 years ago when Western Michigan won their only title. I still think it's an Akron Ohio final. I can't remember a time when two teams were this much better than the rest of the league. I'd put the odds for each team to win at: Akron / Ohio 5:4 Can't St. 7:1 W Michigan 25:1 Buffalo 75:1 Bowling Green 150:1 E Michigan 500:1 Ball St. 250:1 Miami 1250:1 C Michigan 1500:1 N Illinois 1500:1

  18. Win one more against them, that's called a winning streak haha. 47-3.. wow.
  19. K.e.n.t was a #9 seed in 2008 when they lost to UNLV. I believe they won a BB @ St. Mary that year. Seeding is also hurt that in the last 4 years, we've had the #5, 9, 6, & 3 seeds win the tourney.
  20. RPI Forecast recently added projections with Conference Tournaments. They have graphical buttons at the top to switch back and forth between the two forecasts. 27-4 would give the Zips the regular season and Tourney titles with a rpiforecast projection of 18.8. 26-5 Forecasts to an RPI of 25.2. The highest probability they have (27.23%) has the final record as 25-6, with an RPI of 34. Not only would they have a chance to move ahead of them now, they also host OU in the BB. A loss there would drop them even more, and possibly make that win vs. OU a top 50ish / win.
  21. I'd be more worried about Can't trying to play spoiler than UB. I expect them to play over their heads. Their strengths are the same as the Zips, and Zeke / Tree are much better. The game in Athens is the only hurdle, the rest are speed bumps. Of course, one could be tripped up by a speed bump too.
  22. K.e.n.t vs. NIU? Oh wait...
  23. If this plays out, it should be one of the best attended games in Cleveland I would think.
  24. A 16-0 and 14-2 team (or two 15-1 teams) should make for a great championship game atmosphere, if everything plays out that way. Still a long way to go. With WMU already being done with Akron and Ohio, wonder if they could somehow slide into the second double bye should one team stumble unexpectedly.
  25. Gotta love the media attention a game with two undefeated teams will bring in the area. Can't (not k.e.n.t, although they did get blown out there) get caught looking past BG, especially on the road.
