Plus the OU game is the return of Bubba. Should be a fun one for the Rowdies.

Have fun, Savage hall is like playing in an airplain hangar. When I was there for a game last year, the students showed up late, left early, and the only ones standing and cheering were the four guys in the jump suits and masks. I would hope it's better with the team doing so much better this year.

I feel that Toledo will lose to Akron but beat Can't. I think Akron will lose at Can't and at Miami. I guess conceed wasn't the right word. Expect might be better a choice.
-
I think everyones out of it for the number one seed. Ive coneeded it to Toledo given their schedule. Akron/Can't with get the two/three seed in some order, with OU, Western and Miami all fighting it out for 4 and the all important bye. Can't did detroy EMU, but remember Medlock is out fo rthe year with a broken foot, so EMU will probably stuggle the rest of the way.As for CMU/OU, CMU shot 48% (14-29) from three. I would say that OU was unlucky to play a bad team on a night when they shot the ball that well. Also, if OU's hot in Cleveland, I wouldn't want to play them...

I can;t imagine a team with a SOS rank of 264 getting an at large, especially with the best win being #91 Oral Roberts
-
No such thing as an easy road at the Q.On one hand I'd like to get the #4 seed rather than #2 or #3. I'd much rather play Toledo in the Semi's than another one of the MAC East teams. But with the change to the format of the tournament this year, Seeds 4 through 13 will have to play 4 games in 4 days to win the tourny, so the bye becomes important.Toledo will most likely get the #1 seed in the tourny simply because they play in the west and don't have to come to Akron, Can't, etc... They are one of the top 5 teams. It will come down to who gets hot in cleveland.I'll root for OU, MAC East needs to dominate the west.

I wouldn't say Toledo and Ohio are screwing anyone. It's ESPN, not the other MAC schools making the selections...

Austin Peay down 13 at the half to 7-15 southeast missouri state
-
There are 13 TV slots, 1 on ESPN, 5 on ESPN2, 5 on ESPNU, and 2 on ESPN360. Right now Akron is #14 on the list of home teams based on RPI, just behind George Mason Oral Roberts, Indiana St. and Toledo. I know they don't go strictly off RPI, but I'm sure it plays a role... so I'd expect the U or 360

I did like the C-note by the way bleacher... Maybe because I was sitting up behind you guys, but it sounded down right quiet during a lot of the first half. Is it better to have all the really rowdy fans at one end or split them between the sides to keep both sides energized? Also, I was corrected, the person who was offering to let people sit low were not giving out the rowdy shirts. He was just haning on to them so as not to leave them somewhere and have them taken. My fault.

I've read posts on here ripping on other schools students sections, calling them quiet, disgracful, etc... I'll admit, today was my first game at the JAR this season, but come on 47 (yes I personally counted them all) students combined in the two sections at tip-off?? Althought those that were next to the band were loud... And someone walking around the GA section asking anyone if they wanted a shirt and wristband to sit down low? When did they start doing that? I know the Rowdies are usually a quality student section, and it's only Buffalo, but after reading previous posts on here, I was expecting a lot more. Hopefully things will be better next game...

Zips open as 15 point favorites

Anyone care to post a preditcion? I think Akron will have a slight let down after Can't, which will keep the game closer than it probably should be. 76-73 Akron
-
I bet the OT win against OU the Sunday before probably contributed to that too.
-
^^^I agree^^^ I didn't attend Akron, but saw lots of diffrent schools represented when i was in class. I can understand at games a little more though...
-
I will also say that this game has all the makings of a big let down game. I hope the guys aren't looking past BG to Can't on Wednesday.
-
BG is coming off a beat down at the hands of Ohio, Samraco was held to 1 of 10 shooting from three. He'll bounce back and score in the upper 20's. Anderson is probably the toughest road venue in the MAC, I'll say zips 76 BGSUcks 74

"Walther said Akron wasn’t the right school for him academically, and his decision to leave had nothing to do with Ohio State transfer Nick Dials moving ahead of him in the rotation at shooting guard."hahahahaha no why would that matter hahaha
-
my head hurts just reading that hahaEDIT: Can you post a link to the story? I assume there were some other schools too?

The East is going to be horrible next year. It will definitely be a battle of attrition. With an odd number of teams in the league next year, how are they going to do the cross divisional games? With unbalanced divisions, are they going back to only division records count towards winning the East or West?
-
Anyone care to predict the score? I'll say 68-56 Zips

Why so hotsile? I dont "have" a band. I looked at all the bands in Cleveland the last few years and said I liked OU's. I like their song selection, sound, etc... I'm not saying I didn't like anyone else, just like theirs more. Plus I was able to see the Akron, OU, and OSU band at Browns game sthis year. I said nothing derogotory to you, or your band. Calm down.
-
You're getting pissed at an objective observer's opinion of which band they liked the best? I wasn't saying anything about any other band there, except I thought OU's was the best. They're mostly brass, which I think makes it a better sound. Also, you call my opinion crap, but offer absolutly no reason as to why...

Akron beat OU in the MACC last year at the Q? Must have missed that one haha

For every classless person in Athens, I bet you I can find their counter part in Akron, or Can't, or Buffalo, etc... I was at the OU Akron football game last year and saw drinks poured on OU fans, and taunts I wouldnt even care to repeat. It happens everywhere. I wouldn't judge the average fan by the bad apples. I know I wouldnt want to be judged on the basis of some knuckle heads I see at games. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning it by any means. Seems to me this has been a heated game ever since Hipsher grabbed his junk, flipped the O-Zone the double bird and nearly started a riot...As far as the crowd, I wasnt at the game, but given the bowl game tonight, I don't think you should use this game as a point of reference. I know when they come to Cleveland, OU's band is usually the best.
