  1. I thought it was an NCAA rule that alcohol couldnt be sold at stadiums on campus?
  2. I disagree on Marshall not dominating the MAC. Most recently, Marshall was in the MAC from 1997 (When they came up from 1-AA) until 2003. During that 7 year span, they went 48-8 (.857) in the MAC, and 73-13 overall. They also won the MACC in 97, 98, 99, 00, 02 and were runners up in 01.It would be very tough for anyone in the MAC to match that run. And those numbers only got them into CUSA...
  3. I'm guessing that this was part of his signature. Of course the only game in 1994 with a score of 63-14 was the game they lost to then #1 Penn St. in Happy Valley, so who knows what hes talking about.
  4. Why not move him into Quaker Square whent he University takes it over?
  5. It looks like a great place to watch a game. Being on campus will make all the difference. After looking at the pic for a while, it reminds me an awful lot of Peden Stadium in Athens (Pics) Except with a bigger press box and a little more seating... even the scoreboard is the similar...
  6. Thanks for the info GoZips.I see last year there were 14 non conference games. I'm not sure if the tournament in Lubbock counted as 1 or 2 games. Does the NCAA still count those tournaments as only one game?So what it seems the schedule may look like, in no particular order, with last years records: 1. Top of the World Tourny (Away) South Carolina Upstate 17-11 (DII) Portland State 19-13 / IUPUI 15-15 Colo. St. 17-13 / Oregon St. 11-21 / Alaska-Fairbanks 17-13 (DII) / Tenn. St. 12-20 2. Austin Peay 21-12 (Away) 3. Bracketbuster 4. YSU 14-17 (Home) 5. Binghamton 13-16 (Home) 6. UIC 14-18 (Home) 7. NC-Central 13-15 (DII - Home) 8. NC-A&T 15-17 (Home) 9. Lamar 15-17 (Away)That would leave 3 to 5 games, depending on how the tournament is counted. Thats one team who made the post season last year. No big draw home games either. I hope all of those games gozips mentions (Dayton, VCU, OSU, Gonzaga) come through to help this schedule out.
  7. Does anyone have an insight into the non-conference schedule for next basketball season? I was looking at some other fan boards and saw Miami's potential OOC schedule (Link) Ohio also released their OOC schedule. (Link). Both look to be quality schedules.Obviously the Zips have the Top of the World Classic, and a Bracket Buster for this season plus a return game @ Austin Peay. What other games are part of gurantees?
  8. I don't know what your smoking, but it seems like some good stuff I mean if Akron is in the Big East, why schedule YSU?
  9. I agree. I am very suprised that Free is still on the board. He was listed as the 10th best tackle in the whole draft, so someone is going to get themselves a steal with him..... maybe cleveland? I forgot about Ryne Robinson from Miami too. He should get drafted as well. The browns only have 3 more picks in the draft. They still need DL, DT and RB. Although if Free is the best available player, I wouldnt be suprised to see him taken.
  10. Id say, realistically, the ones who have a good chance fo getting drafted are: Muncy OU, Free NIU, and Ismail WMU. Most of those guys should get tryouts as Undrafterd FAs at the least....
  11. Even if they dont make the deal, there is absolutly no chance the Browns take Allenman. It was going to a DB or RB. Andruzzi, McKinney, Tucker, etc... may not be the bes tin the league but they are serivceable. I dont think I can watch Ralph Brown get burned again. Eric Wright is a first round talent who dropped because of some off the field issues. Was he investigated for rape, yes, but the charges were dropped. They found 180 ecstacy pills in a common room of his dorm. Do you think if he knew they were there, he would have agreed to the search as he did? This is a boom or bust pick.
  12. Browns just trade up to take Brady Quinn. Wonder if Charlie will catch on some where else...
  13. Plus the A-10 gets multiple teams in the NCAAs year after year. I cant tell you how many times I flipped on FSN and saw 2 A-10 teams playing. A-10, while not a power conferenc eby any means, is definetly a step above the MAC.
  14. Not only Title IX but it it one of the most expensive sports to maintain if I remember correctly. I see Akron is ACHA Division II. Wonder if they'll go up to Division I. I see Ohio, Can't, and Western Michigan are all in that division. Always fun to have thos eMAC rivalries.
  15. After last season who knows what will happen. I could see any team in the east (Save Buffalo and Temple) winning the Division. I have a feeling it could come down to that Wednesday night game against OU...
  16. if i didnt know any better, id think it was april fools....
  17. Where is the store at Chapel Hill? Is it in the mall?
  18. I think CSU played at Value City as part of the same exempt tourny that Can't St. played in.
  19. I read the article, and click on the comments link at the bottom and saw all three, assuming you are Rob from Marshallville, OH.
  20. First of all, I don't think Miami should have been charged with a Tech. The clock expired, buzzer went off, the refferee waived the game over, then they reviewed the play. At the point the players rushed the court the game was over. And who can blame them, the horn sounded and they hit a miracle three to go to the dance. Once they put time on the clock, the court was cleared. As for the e-mail, hes probably been bombarded with similar emails and he snapped. Not acceptable, but not unprecidented. I know I've been in his situation before an over reacted, thats why I don't reply to something that pisses me off right away anymore. Appology yes, fired no...
  21. Field to be announced tonight at 9 PM on ESPN2 and ESPNU.http://www.nit.org/sports/m-nit/spec-rel/030907aaa.html
  22. I think it's all been said. Free throws free throws free throws. One thing I, and those watching the game with me noticed, was that afer the foul to put ced on the line, an additional second ran off off the clock before it stopped. Maybe the time keeper realized this and was "making up for it"? I dunno. Congrats to Miami, hope they pull the upset.
  23. Interesting to see that only two teams (illinois and Old Dominion) have over 50% for the NCAA.
  24. I'll say Zips 75 CMU 70. CMU shot the lights out early against Buffalo, and if Watson keeps shooting well, it could get interesting. Too much Akron in the post for CMU to actually win.
  25. I would agree with almost everything you said. Bubba definetly picked OU up when they needed a boost, but other than those 3 threes in 2 minutes, didn;t really carry them. Ohio was lucky the two BG bigs got in early foul trouble (5 fouls between them in like 78 minutes)The attendance was announced around 5000. I don't think thats too embarrassing considering two of the games were doing a work day.As for the dance teams, Western's is hot, but I enjoyed them all I will second the officiating was horrible all day. I don't think Ive seen as many un-called travels as I did today. Maybe they got a memo after the call on linhart haha.
